Cooking Meatloaf in a Breadmachine

Has anyone tried to cook meatloaf in a breadmaker? Mine has a "bake" setting so I decided to try it. What's the worst thing that can happen? I may have to put it in the over for a short time.

It is really hot, again, today (+27 Celsius) so I don't want to use my oven especially for one little meatloaf. We are having a stellar summer thank goodness as I am stuck at home recovering from breast cancer surgeries (4 in total).

So far I have discovered that if I at home for any length of time I tend to go through a lot of flour & sugar, which I do believe means I like to bake. I guess there are worse hobbies, at least I can give mine away or eat it! LOL

Okay thats a new one on me. I've never heard of doing that in a bread machine, but I guess you certainly could, afterall, I've seen bread machines that make jam. I'm with you on not heating up the kitchen if you don't have to. Nothing more miserable than firing up the oven when you can't breathe to begin with. Good luck to you and hang in there. Lots of SURVIVORS here.

Ditto my evil Twin above my head. Good Luck. How about just getting a crock pot from the thrift store? Hugs to you and your health.I love bread but, Maybe it's a good thing that I suck as a baker! My shorts are a little tighter and I need to lose 10 lbs. We all need to keep busy that is for sure! Take care Love!

Never having owned a bread machine, my only concern would be where the grease may end up. If that isn't an issue, then I think you have a great idea. I try to make as much in my toaster oven as possible when it is this hot. Best wishes for a good recovery.

Okay, I did it and it worked perfectly! I have a Black & Decker and it makes jam too, which I haven't tried yet. Got to go berry picking first. I didn't use my crockpot because I didn't have enough time. Also I think it would have heated up more than the bread machine. No grease because I used wild bison burger. It was an awesome meatloaf, I would most definitely do that again. Thanks for the well wishes!
