Neiman Marcus Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
Awesome! Followed the recipe as written with the exception of cutting down the powdered sugar to 3 cups rather than 4. It came out fantastic! Way better than I thought it would. Sprinkled some powdered sugar on top to make it look pretty. It really was a delicious cake and we'll be making it again.

Kielbasa Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
My family really enjoyed this recipe. I followed the recipe as written. Only short cut I took was using a bag of coleslaw rather than chopping the cabbage myself. The family voted this a keeper and we'll be making it again.

Loved these cookies! Added the glaze to kick them up a notch. We froze some and took them out 5 months later and they were still fantastic!

Old Fashioned Potato Cakes

Reviewed: May 5, 2013
My family loved them. Only thing I added was some seasonings per our families tastes (Emeril Essence, some garlic salt, onion powder). I didn't measure the oil, just coated bottom of pan. Kept them warm in the oven til served. Will definitely use this recipe again!

Peanut Butter Easter Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
The basics of this recipe are good, but you definitely need to tweak the amounts. I added more peanut butter to make it less crumbly and less confectioner's sugar to make it not too sweet. The final results were good, but if I'd have stuck to the recipe as written, they wouldn't have worked.

Fruit Salad in Seconds

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
Made this for a family reunion - everyone loved it. I used strawberries, pineapple, grapes and blueberries with strawberry yogurt and whipped cream. There wasn't any leftovers. Couldn't have been more simple and easy to take for a picnic.

Mrs. Ronzo's Lemon Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
What a yummy "cookie". Its definitely cake-like not the consistency of a cookie. I did follow the recommendation to add more lemon extract to the cookie mix as well as I added some fresh lemon zest. This kicked the cookie up a notch. For the icing I added some more lemon extract and a bit more powdered sugar so it was more frosting-like and then I added yellow food coloring and garnished with yellow sprinkles.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Good gravy are these good! After I mixed the ingredients the 'dough' looked like brownie mix and when I took it out of the fridge it was harder than I expected - but it rolled up nicely. I did make small balls and this helped make the cookie a nice bite size. I used the Andes candies chips on top but found them a bit messy, so I figured out to use parchment paper and this helped the cookie plus helped keep the tray from getting messy. The cookie is nice and soft and does taste like a girl scout thin mint.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies with Sea Salt

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
These are fantastic! I melted the chocolate in the microwave rather than a double boiler, which made the recipe super easy. I also added another 1/4 cup of flour and let cool in fridge about a half hour. Spooned easily onto parchment paper. I baked them a little longer than the recipe called for to ensure they were done, even though the recipe stresses to not over bake. I think this helped. They are a really rich cookie but so addicting! I really only recommend these for a chocoholic! :)

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
This recipe was handed down from my mother and its a family tradition now. We add about 3 heaping tablespoons of peanut butter making it more peanut butter/chocolate fudge. We also do not use a thermometer. Instead we time a hard boil for 4 minutes. Comes out perfect every time!
