Salmon in Lemon-Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Very tasty recipe. It's not the healtiest way to prepare salmon with all of the butter and cream, but it would probably be a nice treat every once in a while. I substituted red onion for the shallot since it was what I had on hand. I also did not have lemon pepper, so I used some lemon zest and black pepper. Next time I will be more careful with the heat after adding the cream and butter because the sauce broke on me. I might also try adding some cornstarch slurry since that is also supposed to help.

Peking Duck

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
This recipe made a duck with a nice flavor reminiscent of Peking Duck though much milder. The skin, for the most part, did not get very crispy. I turned on the broiler afterward, and it helped caramelize the skin a bit, giving it some color and more crispiness.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
Good recipe. Not much of a cocoa flavor to the actual bread. I added walnuts which went well with the chocolate chips

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2007
Very good recipe. The bread is sweet and moist with good flavor. Right out of the oven, the bread has a nice crunchy top, but it softens later. I prefer nuttier banana bread, so next time I might increase the amout of walnuts. The recipe makes a LOT of batter.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2007
Mediocre. The bread is moist and has a lot of banana flavor, but I prefer my banana bread to be sweeter than this recipe turned out. It is okay but not the best.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
Very good recipe. Cookies are best fresh from the oven: crunchy exterior and warm interior that melts in your mouth. The next day they are still good: dense and chewy.

Carrot Cake III

Excellent recipe. Very moist and not overly sweet. I substituted walnuts for pecans. I will definitely make this again.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2004
Pretty good recipe. I marinated for 24 hours and cooked it under the broiler. The steak was tender and flavorful, but the vinegar taste seemed to dominate a bit too much. Next time I would cut the balsamic by maybe a third.
