Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
I've made this several times for guests, always resulting in rave reviews. So simple to make, and the leftovers are great the next morning when heated up a little and served with some berries and maple syrup.

Spinach Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Yummy!! Very fluffy and cheesy and delicious. Really enjoyed this. Used a few tablespoons of lemon pepper instead of soup mix, and a frozen pie crust. Both subsitutions were lovely.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
so rich and delicious!! definitely not the healthiest thing in the world, but you don't need much to feel satisfied. i make my own salad dressing, just drizzle in some balsamic and olive oil, or add cream of mushroom soup instead sometimes, but it's always excellent.

Butternut Squash and Spicy Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
this soup was the BEST SOUP i've had in years. it seemed like sort of a strange combo, but trust me, amazing. you could make it a lot faster with a couple cans of pureed butternut squash, too, if you're short on time.

Angela's Easy Breaded Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I used my own version of salad dressing: olive oil, champagne orange muscat vinegar, little Dijon mustard, crushed garlic, salt&pepper and some onion powder. Then I added a little mayo to help it coat better. I used Ian's whole wheat panko bread crumbs which are really tasty. I also used boneless, skinless thighs instead of breast and cooked everything at 400F for just 20 minutes on a pizza pan to preserve crispiness. Easily one of the best recipes I've made this year. Mayo really helps it stay moist. Delicious!

A to Z Everything-but-the-Kitchen-Sink Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
wow. i made these for my husband for valentine's day and he must have eaten eight or nine that day alone. he took the rest to work and everyone went crazy for them. plus this recipe makes over 4 dozen cookies so you're loaded with chewy goodness for weeks. my rec: keep 'em on the smaller side and cook less time.

Chicken and Leek Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
this was super tasty, and I don't even usually like things like chicken pot pie... i used a can of condensed cream of asparagus instead of vegetable soup, and added some broccoli florets... turned out delicious and actually i thought it looked pretty good as well.

Cranberry Chutney II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2003
The flavor of this dish is very complex, which I loved. Still, I think it was a bit too tomato-ey for the family. I will probably tone down the tomatoes and hike up the brown sugar next time. But the cloves and golden raisins are great in this.

Vegetarian Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2003
This gravy was delicious! I was so surprised at the use of soy sauce but it really worked. I improvised a bit by using mushroom broth instead of vegetable, and ended up adding about a cup of white wine to thin, and the results were wonderful.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2003
This sidedish was the hit of my Thanksgiving dinner!! Even though I am a vegetarian, I was able to subsitute with wonderful results by using fake sausage (boca italian soy sausages) and vegetable broth. I will definitely be making this dish again next year.
