Grilled Radishes

Great idea for radishes; I learned I actually like them if I cook them. Like others I tried to make them on the stove. For some reason mine took forever to cook and got crispy/blackened. I didn't really like this and I think doing them on the grill would be better. Or baking them in foil in the oven, which I will try next. I thought the garlic was the perfect amount, since cooking the radishes cuts their 'bite' and the garlic brings it back.

Salsa Onion Dip

The mix made it taste artifical and the dehydrated onions bits were still hard even though I let the dip sit in the fridge overnight, which didn't make it very appetizing. Maybe trying the green onion dip packet would be better?

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

I made this as the cutting cake for my friend's wedding. One recipe makes two 6" springforms, so you could half it for one. To make it gluten free I omitted the flour, and also the milk (upon another's suggestion), and instead doubled the amount of sour cream and made with 5 packs cream cheese. I made the gluten free tart crust from elanaspantry.com but forgot to pre-bake it (will do next time). The crust came out soggy but I could ignore that because the cheesecake was amazing, and the most classically tasty and rich cheesecake I have ever made.

Hot Mexican Bean Dip

Used non-fat plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream and omitted cream cheese. Used 1 small can of green chiles instead of the jalapeno. I omitted the cheese on top and (tried) to serve it cold without baking. I don't recommend this. The dip had a good spicy flavor, but without baking it wasn't that great (I was trying to imitate the bean dip in the jar-you know the one). Next time I will try baking it and I'm sure it will be much better, especially if I use the ingredients called for!
