Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: May 5, 2013
This was a good cake. I did make as written, adding strawberries at the end. It did find that it was a thick batter - but it was not dense. I would make this again. It was not overly sweet, which was nice.

Cream Cheese Mints

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Absolutely EASY and fabulous! I made these for Christmas "goodie boxes" that I am sending out. I doubled the recipe (mistake!) and had far toooo many! I rolled the "dough" into small "snakes" and cut it with a knife and made them just like you buy in the stores. I did separate it into different batches and colored them with different Christmas colors. I'm keeping this SUPER EASY recipe! I did not have peppermint oil, so instead I used peppermint extract (1/4 teaspoon) and it was just fine!

Sweet Mustard Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
Very good! My husband does not like honey mustard but he even liked this chicken. Serve with rice and you can put some of the honey mustard dressing on the rice for extra flavor.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
Excellent recipe! I've made this several times and the only change I've made is that I used regular milk instead of buttermilk. It still turned out great.

Cowboy Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
This is a keeper! I made this without the bacon (didn't have any) and added some mustard and onion powder when it was done baking. I served it over biscuits. YUM! Thanks for a great recipe!

Doubly Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
I checked three times to make sure I followed the recipe to a T and I did but they were very dry and crumbly. I have used other peanut butter cookie recipes before and simply added peanut butter chips. I thought I'd try this one but don't care for it. Too dry and too crumbly.

Maple Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
Very good! I didn't have maple syrup, so I used Mrs. Butterworths instead. I also baked them at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, as small balls rolled in sugar. They turned out great!

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
EXCELLENT! I didn't put butter on the tops after they were done baking and they were just fine. I stored the leftovers in a gallon size baggie and the next day they were extremely fresh, moist, and soft.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
I wasn't sure if we'd like this but it seemed simple enough for a quick meal tonight without much fuss. After having a baby 2 weeks ago I needed something FAST. This was great. I did use chicken tenderloins instead of breasts and I took a taco seasoning packet and put it in a sandwich baggie and "coated" the chicken that way, instead. I put a little bit of water in the bottom of the pan while cooking, too. The "coated" chicken had a BITE to it. EXTREMELY SPICY.....so sour cream would've been a great addition, but we didn't have any. If you like SPICY foods...try it this way. I served it with white rice on the side. YUMM! I will make this again. Thanks!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
Excellent! Very good. I did alter the recipe for 12 servings instead of 24 and I made it in the bread machine. I was hesitant of how it would turn out but it is VERY GOOD!

Light Oat Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
Just personal preference that we didn't care for this. I was excited to try it after all of the rave reviews. My husband and kids don't care for it either. It did smell wonderful while baking and it made a beautiful loaf! I think I'll stick with the Amish Bread recipe on this site.

Dad's Peach Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
This ice cream is awesome! We did make a change...we only had 4 cups of heavy whipping cream, so for the 5th cup, we substituted with 1 c. of milk. Additionally, next time I make this I am not going to puree the peaches, however, I'd rather have "bits" of peaches, so I'll chop them instead. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2007
Very good. I did alter the recipe slightly. I used all butter flavored shortening rather than butter and shortening. Additionally I realized I was out of vanilla, and used 1/2 tsp. of almond extract instead. When baking, I lowered the temperature to 325 and baked them for 14 minutes.

Salsafied Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
This is very good. I have made it many times. I even swapped out the chicken with seasoned (taco seasoning) ground beef and that was a big hit. We also like to use this as a filling for a totilla shell. Yum!
