D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
I have made this so many times. There's just no way to screw it up!!! I sometimes switch green chilies for jalapenos or use cans of Fire roasted tomatoes but it is always top notch!

Hot Turkey Salad Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Excellent! I didn't add any eggs because I don't like them and left out the salt. I used Kraft Cracked pepper mayo so I didn't add any extra mayo. It was fabulous!!!

Winter Blossom's Often Requested Ham Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Wow. I had never tried ham salad before. It always sounded like something my very southern grandmother used to make (mashed vienna sausage sandwiches anyone?) But I made a glazed ham the other night and needed something different to try with the leftovers. I'm eating this right now and it's just glorious. I didn't have any relish so I threw in pickle slices in my processor after chopping the ham and it worked out just great. Excellent recipe!

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
Ok as another reviewer said, this recipe is so forgiving if you're missing stuff. I used celery salt instead of celery and skipped the extra salt. I didn't have the hot pepper sauce or the chili sauce so I added a bit of lime juce and some cajun seasoning. And i forgot to mix in the worcestershire so I just drizzled as I cooked. My husband promised me a weeks worth of dish duty if I'd make this again real soon!!! I served it with a spicy dill mayo that I found on this site. WAAAY good.

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
My first time cooking and eating butternut squash. This was fabulous. I left out the celery because I didn't have any and my blender was broken so I tried mashing it with a potato masher...not exactly the same consistency but still incredibly good.

BBQ Dry Rub

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
My mom and I had a competition last night and I was declared the hands down winner with this rub. I cut it down quite a bit to 5 servings and still had some left over which I am going to try on salmon, as per another review. Excellent savory and sweet rub! Update: I tried this on chicken leg quarters with the skin removed and my husband re-proposed to me when we were done! :-)

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This was sensational. I got a little crazy after reading the reviews and put ketchup and dill relish inside the meatloaf on top of the cheese. DH and I loved it but my mother and sister thought the pickle was a bit weird. I do want to try it with some grilled onions and mushrooms, maybe bacon. Excellent recipe though, both as is and with modifications.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I just made this using fat free half and half, turkey bacon and turkey sausage to cut down on fat and cholesterol. It tasted wonderful but I think next time I'll stick with real bacon or try the bacon bits someone else recommended. Everything else was perfect.

Chicken and Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
I started with pre-seasoned lemon pepper chicken breasts. (I have like a huge freezer full because they were on sale.) I boiled them in lots of water with 2 teaspoons bouillion mixed in. After removing the chicken, I brought the broth back up to boiling and added the noodles to the pot. Everything else I followed except I added mushrooms and used frozen broccoli instead of fresh...the broccoli got a little soft but I still enjoyed it immensely. It was excellent!!

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I put 3 tbsp mayo, added chopped peanuts and green onions rather than dried onion. I reduced the parsley to 1 tsp, though with fresh parsley it might be good with a tablespoon. This was an excellent recipe. Thanks!

Not Red Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
I substituted olive oil for the butter because I was out of butter. (Who runs out of butter?) I was also out of mushrooms, and would have loved to try it with zucchini. As it was, I added chopped broccoli. This was really fast and really good. It seems very adaptable. Definitely going into my monthly rotation

Honey Ginger Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
Oh my goodness!! I'm not sure exactly how long we marinated this...probably close to an hour. But I followed the recipe exactly and grilled it on a gas grill on some aluminum foil. It was the best salmon I have ever tasted. Incredible!!!!!

Mushroom Lovers Fantasy

I agree that it could be simmered longer to help blend the flavors but otherwise this was absolutely wonderful. And the leftovers are even better!
