OK, am I a blogger? Don't know yet as this is my first one. I don't even know what to write about. Ah wait, this is Allrecipes, maybe I should write about food. I love food, all sorts of food. Any veggie, fruit, protein, you name it, if I haven't already eaten it (and even if I have and… MORE

About this Cook
I'm a retired legal secretary (gaming law). I live in Rio Rico with my l'il doggie, Dani. I play golf, contract bridge, count points, read, work on Spanish and sew. My food focus is healthy and low calorie.
My favorite things to cook
I don't really have a favorite. I see a recipe and if I like it I want to make it. What do I repeat. . .hmmm, LC chicken pot pie, or big salads. . .
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fruit salad - apples, pears, grapes, bananas, oranges, celery, walnuts, small marshmellows with a mayo, sugar, lemon dressing. We always have that at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
My first prime rib - came out delish!
My cooking tragedies
I decided to make tamales for a Spanish couple (friends). I knew you could buy the masa already made, so I did. I decided to fill the tamales with BBQ. They came out like a rubber hose! Turned out I bought tortilla masa instead of tamale - we still laugh over that!

This was just wonderful! I will certainly make this again. Thanks for such an easy recipe - and, did I say how good it was!!
