About this Cook
I really enjoy trying out new recipes that I find here at Allrecipes. I had long admired all the photos that other cooks were submitting on this site and decided one day to take a photo and submit it just for fun. That started a new hobby of photographing food. I find taking photos and always trying out new recipes makes cooking fun and not like a chore.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook and prepare healthy meals for my family. I try to avoid too much red meat and I have become pretty good at substituting ground turkey in place of ground beef (my family no longer can tell the difference) I love salads and also prepare a lot of chicken dishes. Chicken is so versatile I could cook it every night in a completely different recipe and my family never gets sick of it.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime that I can put a meal on the table that EVERYONE raves over that I just feel that's a huge triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Well..lets see.. I have set off the smoke detector more than once. But since I have never actually burned down the house I guess that was more of a comedy then a tragedy!

GA Peach Pound Cake
I had bought a bunch of fresh georgia peaches and made this delicious cake. I read some of the reviews first and followed naple's idea to make a glaze using peach juice. I peeled and pureed a small peach and added powdered sugar to make a glaze. great idea! It added some extra yummy peachy flavor.

Home Made Top Tarts!
Fun recipe to make. I have made these twice now. I had to bake mine for an extra 5 minutes for them to start turning brown. The frosting made way too much. I cut the frosting recipe in half the second time I made these and still had some left over. The frosted ones are super sweet. My husband preferred the pop tarts without any frosting at all. Tastes much better than store-bought!

Ultimate Shrimp Scampi
this was delicious! I reduced the amount of lemon juice but left everything else to same. Great recipe!
