Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly. Even at a low heat simmer, the sugar/butter/water mixture quickly caramelized into goo which really couldn't be poured over the latticework, but rather had to be spooned and "pushed" into the openings. A huge hot mess, and a waste of apples and time.

Iced Tea II

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
Overall this was great! I didn't have the orange tea bag that it inquired in the ingredients, but I used a different type that also worked! It was very refreshing and would be great for a BBQ.

Couscous Salad with Chickpeas, Dates & Cinnamon

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
Sooooo great and easy to make! I replace the cranberries w/ raisins, just my personal taste, skip the carrots and add diced granny smith apples. Great chilled, and it keeps well for leftovers for 3 days or so....

Raspberry Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
i'm deducting a star for presentation....mine turned out very flat, nothing at all like the posted photos (recipe does not call for baking soda or powder), so these are not cookies you could give away or bring to a friend. taste will put you into an immediate diabetic coma -- very buttery and sweet. i used raspberry preserves for half and peach for the rest.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2005
UN.BE.lieeeeeeavable! i halved the recipe, and added a splash of almond extract to the frosting. i also spread the filling, then rolled the dough up, loaf-style, and it came out looking & smelling like something from a bakery! i think next time i may also add some almond paste to the cream cheese filling and sprinkle slivered almonds on the frosting, just to experiment. so easy and so good!!!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2005
this was very good, and easy too! didn't have chives on hand, so i substituted minced onion. i used thin sliced chicken cutlets, spread the cream cheese on top and laid cooked bacon strips across (didn't roll chicken up), then poured the sauce on the whole thing....came out great!

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2005
My kids LOVED this recipe (and they usually hate any chicken dish!)...i took advice from other reviews -- my changes: used 4TBS butter; sliced onion in bottom of dish; pre-cooked the bacon in pan; then sauteed chicken in 2TBS bacon fat; used 2 sm. cans sliced mushrooms instead of fresh; substituted fat free half & half for cream, plus added about 1/4 c. extra; added remaining bacon grease to gravy mixture....everyone loved this dish and i'll definitely use again!!!
