My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to make my mother breakfast in bed on the weekends when I was living at home. Now my son loves to cook breakfast for our family. He hasn't brought it to me in bed yet but there is still time. He likes to sleep in!
My cooking triumphs
I can read a recipe and adjust it to my families taste. I no longer have to rely on the recipe as written. That is one reason I do not rate to many recipes on this site. it seems I always make changes. There are so many wonderful recipes here and I just tweak them to suit us.
My cooking tragedies
I always seem to try new recipes when company is coming. There has been some real flops in the past but Allrecipes rating really has made cooking new recipes foulproof.

Best Chicken Ever
Very good chicken, I added crushed garlic to the sour cream and used rice krispies and peanut butter crunch because I had them on hand. I willl definitly make chicken this way again. Thanks for the recipes Mae.

Portuguese Sweet Bread I
Very good. I baked it in a non-stick tube pan. It came out like a huge doughnut. I also brushed with an egg wash before baking, covered with foil half way through baking and buttered the top when finished baking and still hot. Thanks for the recipe!

Boiled Fruitcake
This was so good right out of the oven. I wanted to wait but it smelled so good. I got 6 small loaves out of one recipe. I omitted the citrus peel and added dates and raisins for the dried fruit. I will be making this again.
