White Velvet Cutouts

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
I have a few important tips and tricks to these delicious cookies.Tips... 1.) Do NOT bake until golden brown! - They will be way overdone. You want to pull them just as you start to see light brown on the edges. I have seen way too many pictures of crunchy lookin VELVET cutouts. There should be nothing crunchy about something described as velvet.... 2.)Do not roll with too much flour. - Start with a tiny "test piece" and very lightly flour the surface. Lastly, do not add a bunch of sugar! The cookies are not meant to be like a cross between a shortcake, and traditional sugar cutout. The butter cream frosting recipie adds so much darn sugar....sometimes too much IMO., But I have seen beautiful examples of what they should look like.... the shamrocks, santa heads, lady bugs(all great examples!)... Anyways- I wrote a Short story! LOL! These cookies are definitly worth it. Good Luck and Enjoy! These are by far my most requested cookie by friends and family. Beware-- done incorrectly- they are the most horrible cookie!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
OK... I am pretty darn good at baking, but what went wrong with this recipie?? The cake turned out super moist- not as chocolatey flavored as I would like... But holy cripes did it stick to my pans, and fell completly apart upon removal from the pans!!! I cooked it about 3 or 4 min. less than directed. I greased the rounds with crisco, and I dont know why it fell apart so easily... but I will definitly be trying a different recipie for choc. cake next time! But I do have to give the cake props for it's moist-ness. I pieced it together, let it cool- frosted it, and fed it to all the guys around the shop. Not pretty, but it did the job!It reminded me of a store cake- that you find in the coolers. TY!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2013
I made this cassarole for the crew of guys at my husbands work. Everyone loved it! Of course I took a sneek taste before sending it out the door. I did add a little bit of carrots, and peas for color, and I added a tiny bit of stock paste into the soup and sour cream mix- for extra flavor, also added a bit of bread crumb into the cracker and butter mixture. I left some larger crumbles in the butter crackers, and it gave it a great crisp topping!!I otherwise followed the recipie as is, and it earned raved reviews for such a simple- easy, and quick lunch. Thank You!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
This is an awesome Choc. chip Cookie recipie!! Thank - You...... Dora, the cookie explorer! LOL> I try new ones all of the time, also the "giant choc. chip recipie (pictured in a blue bowl)- very good. This recipie turned out very chewy, crisp on the edges. But baker beware.... ! Do not over bake them. When they just start to brown, pull them out, rest on the sheet for a min., and place on parchment. They turn out very uniform, and just plain old perfect!
