Double Chocolate Biscotti

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2007
I halved the recipe, to try it out. They were gone very fast. It's for chocolate lovers who don't like their cookies too heavy or too sweet. Will make again.

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
I had a craving for coconut so looked for something sinful...this hit the spot! Great taste and texture, just the right amount of coconut, so it's not overpowering. I actually baked only half batch, because I wanted to test it first, now I regret I don't have more! I made slight changes, using half the butter and the other half of oil, and a little less chocolate chips. Everything else was the same but they came out fewer than expected. Will do again!

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
I'm reviewing this recipe again because, after testing it once, I doubled it and served it at my birthday party. I used only 4 eggs and substituted some of the butter with cream cheese. I think in this case the cocoa gets to be too much, so dark and intense. The result, anyway, was fantastic. All my friends wanted the recipe! Thanks for this one!

Fudgy Brownies II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2004
Very good taste. And quick and easy too. I used 2/3 of the sugar and they were just the right sweetness. But they're not fudgy! I guess I expected them to be different, thicker and chewier. And they weren't very soft either!

Real French Crepes

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2004
Maybe they're not exactly real French crepes, but they're good nonetheless. I've used this recipe several times and, as always with crepes, every time it's a challenge. I use a little less milk and let it stand for about 20 minutes before using the batter. Don't get discouraged if some crepes break, especially the first one, it takes some time to learn how to flip them!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2004
If you are patient and don't mind cleaning up a messy pan (from boiling and baking milk), this is a great recipe. I've made it several times and have never had problems with any of the ingredients. I slice the potatoes as thin as I can to make it cook faster and I sprinkle the flour over each layer, without measuring it, I probably use less than 3 tablespoons.

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2004
A no fail recipe, I halved the servings and they still turned out very good. They came out a little thin, but they were crisp on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside, anyway. It's a very basic recipe, not too sweet and not too heavy.

Egg-free Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2004
The taste is ok, but these are not even close to be called brownies! It's a soft cake, with a bland taste that can be improved with some jelly or filling. I didn't use all the butter that the recipe called for and I put only half of the sugar, so maybe it didn't turn out well because of my changes, but I can't imagine it tasting way better that this if I had followed the recipe in every detail. Ok for one evening, but will not do again, sorry.

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
For all chocolate lovers who get bored of simple chocolate chip cookies, these are perfect! Sounds harder than it is, it was actually quick and easy...and fun! I didn't have enough butter, so substituted part of it with vegetable oil and they tasted great anyway. I'll keep this recipe and will make it again when I need comfort food!

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2004
Very good recipe. I was looking for a 'different' chocolate cake and this is a nice twist. I used less sugar and still came out too sweet for my taste, but other than that it was delicious.
