Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
Delicious. I altered it slightly (cut up cake, layered the different ingredients, as well as just added condensed milk and caramel as is without heating them together). Brought it for a birthday at work, and a few people said it earned the name. At home we ate the leftovers directly from a serving spoon. It barely lasted the day.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
Best Pancake recipe I've tried. It's definitely a keeper, this recipe went over very well in my house. Fairly easy to make as well.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
Great flavour. I made the mistake of cooking them too soon before dinner and I forgot to use Balsamic Vinegar, but they still got devoured by the end of the meal. Asparagus is my favorite vegetable, and this is a great alternative to the usual steamed asparagus with butter, probably healthier too. Will have to try making it the right way next time.

Brandy Flamed Peppercorn Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
Wonderful Recipe, the picky eater in my house ate his entire steak (he doesn't even LIKE steak normally.) Very easy to make, but is impressive to cook in front of guests. I will definitely be making this recipe a lot! The sauce it makes is delicious and the steak was perfectly cooked and tender.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
Wonderful flavor, the buttery turkey satisfied everyone. My boyfriend (who hates turkey because of the dry texture) had several helpings, as did everyone. The gravy was divine. My picky boyfriend had two helpings of potatoes (another food he hates) just so he could have more gravy. I did add a few more cups of wine to the turkey a few hours before it was done and I made my own sage stuffing instead of stuffing with vegetables. Will definitely be making this every year now!

Cherry Pie IV

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
Pie shell pastry was super easy to make. I'm terrible with pastry and my pie turned out looking like I had some clue what I'm doing. The filling was great with the corn starch. I used only a cup of brown sugar and didn't have any almond extract, but my boyfriend and friends absolutely loved this pie. I'm keeping this recipe!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
The muffins turned out a little bit dry, but overall a good recipe and great use of leftover blueberries. Will probably be making this again.

Loved this recipe, I did add some extra oil as recommended but the flavour was very good. I would definitely make this again.

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
Made this for my boyfriend and I, and didn't know what to expect. Baked oatmeal is something his mom always made for him so I was worried that it wouldn't measure up, but thankfully he loved it and asked if it was his mom's recipe! I only made a couple changes, I didn't have cinnamon on hand so I added a little bit of maple syrup and I used walnuts instead of cranberries. It was very decadent.
