Best Ever Sausage with Peppers, Onions, and Beer!

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2004
This recipe was fantastic. I subbed pasta sauce for the tomato paste, but it is true, the beer makes the recipe (and I don't even like beer). I used Miller Genuine Draft, but I would love to try a different beer next time. Very flavorful, I will use this one over and over again. My husband loved it.

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
This was a great recipe...I also stuffed the chicken with the lemon halves....even my picky brother in law liked it! I will definitely make it again.

Easy Crab Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
This dip was absolutely yummy! I was planning on making it for a shower, so I did a test run to make sure it was good, and my husband and I ate it all up! The only thing I did a little different, was add a bit of grated cheese on top. Delicious!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
I made this for my husband when he went on a hunting trip, and they absolutely loved it. I forgot to tell them how to thin it out later, so it was quite thick, but otherwise, it was great!

Lasagna Alfredo Roll Ups

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
I made this for my husband to take on a hunting trip. He is not a big traditional lasagna fan, but I thought maybe he would like this. Turns out he didn't, but the other guys loved it! I used diced chicken instead of the spinach, just to add some protein. I'll make it again (for myself when the husband is away hunting)!

Broccoli and Stilton Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2004
I thought this soup was great. I love blue cheese (and HATE broccoli), and I had some broccoli in the fridge to use up, so I thought I'd try it out. I added some celery, garlic, and cauliflower, and seasoned with white and black pepper. It was fantastic. My husband liked it too. I'll definitely make this again! Did I mention that I hate broccoli?

Curried Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
This was a very elegant soup. The flavors were wonderful, spices were just enough, and the curry/sweet flavor was a nice surprise. I loved it, my husband loved it too. It was a joy to make and eat. My co-workers thought I spent hours making it, when it took me less than an hour.

Spicy Beef Curry Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
This was very tasty! I didn't have jalapenos in the house, so it wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, but nevertheless, it was a very good stew. My husband also liked it. It was easy to make, and I will definitely make this again!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2005
My husband and I both liked this. It was good to eat on a cold winter's night. I used venison kielbassa, but next time I will add more spice, and I'll add rice right to the slow cooker. It was easy to make and enjoyable to eat.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
I made this recipe mainly for my two year old daughter. She loved it and my husband loved it! The vanilla pudding gives it a nice buttery taste. I made half the recipe and ended up with 73 cookies (dropped by teaspoon)! I would have preferred them a little chewier, myself, but I got rave reviews from everyone who tried them, so no complaints here. It was also very easy to make, so that was another bonus.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
Fantastic! So light tasting! My family loved it, including my two year old daughter. I assembled my salad the night before and let it marinate itself, and it was wonderful. My mother-in-law even asked for the recipe. I will definitely make this again......so quick, easy and tasty.

Blueberry Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
This was a very good recipe. I didn't have all the ingredients on hand, so I changed it a bit......crushed pineapple instead of chunks, kiwi instead of strawberries, orange marmalade instead of drink mix. My family liked it, and it was very easy to make. I'll make it again.

Lemon Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I made these hoping my two year old daughter (who is currently on a strike against meat) would eat them. They were very easy to make, and I really liked the flavour.....not too sweet for me! Turns out she ate quite a few bites (dipped in honey, yet!), so I was happy. I omitted the curry for her, and I didn't have fresh lemons which would make it even more mouth-puckering good, but it was still very tasty, and super tender.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
What a great stew. Best I've made. And I didn't even have any wine on hand, but I'm sure that makes it even better. I added a few diced tomatoes to the mix, a bit of garlic, and cooked it on high for about 5 hours to make the potatoes nice and tender. It was a bit peppery for my two year old, but next time I'll just ease up on that (even though I loved it!).

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
I made this exactly as instructed, and I found it was just a little sweet for me. Next time I will ease up on the sugar a bit, and make it a little creamier. My 2 1/2 year old daughter, however, had no complaints!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

I'm not a fan of brussel sprouts, and after trying this, I'm still not. Not that the recipe was bad, I think it's just me. Mine turned out pretty bitter.

Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
These turned out great, even though I had to stop soaking the cukes (my daughter broke her leg!) and soak them again later. Very crunchy, just a great texture. They turned out a bit salty (even for me), but I attribute that to mistakes I made (too much water boiled off while I filled the jars), not the recipe. I may add a bit more dill next time, but I'll definitely make them again next year.

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
This was fantastic. Next time, I'm going to omit the olive oil (it seemed to overpower the flavor to me), but it was still very tasty.

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
Unbelieveable! I didn't have time to marinate the chicken long before we bbq'd, but it was still fantastic. I did not add the extra salt; it was salty enough on its own (and I'm a big saltaholic). I'm not sure I'll even share this one with anyone; I want to keep it all for myself!
