I've been cooking all of my life. My Mother taught me how to cook, sew and other home activities as a means of survival. She always said "you'll be glad that I tought you these things." She was right. We didn't have very much money after my Dad past away and often could only afford bread and gravy for dinner. But I learned the basics and how to prepare meals with only the very basic ingrediants. I will forever be thankful.
My favorite things to cook
I am not a gourmet chef. I enjoy taking the basics and preparing delicious meals. I guess you could say that I'm a meat and potatoes man.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey for Thanksgiving. Ham for Christmas. Prime Rib for New Years.
My cooking triumphs
My children love my beef enchiladas and pepper steak.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list - but I have learned much from mistakes.
