Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2005
I have made so many recipes from this website that have been delicious and this is only the second one that did not pass the test. I usually have great success with 5 star recipes and this one fooled me and my family. There are so many better pasta recipes that taste far superior without all the effort that a lagagna requires.

Champagne Shrimp and Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2005
Delicious. I did make one change, however. I do not buy heavy cream (I make my own substitution of 1/2 and 1/2- 7oz. of milk and 3 T. butter combined to = 1c.). This substitution recipe worked out well and it tasted delicious in this recipe.

No Roll Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
The best pie crust I have ever made uses cream cheese and butter, but with the outrageous price of butter these days, I am always looking for ways to substitute this expensive ingredient. This recipe does the trick. It is easy and convenient to make, and makes a tasty pie crust as well.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2005
I was short on time,so I lightly steamed the broccoli and then added the rest of the ingredients (I substituted a can of evaporated milk for the milk and always add 1 t. of dry mustard powder to any recipe with cheese). I did not saute the veggies in butter or add 1 T.butter at the end (I forgot)as directed, but the quiche still tasted great and I got rave reviews. A lowfat and tasty version!

Very tasty. I made these to go with a spinach salad and they definitely elevated the taste of the salad. Will make again.

Chicken Stew With Coconut Milk

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2004
Absolutely delicious and so easy, considering its a microwave soup. Some guests I had over for lunch wanted the recipe. I am going to try Jean Carper's other recipes after this great success!

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2004
The pumpkin pie portion was delicious, but sometimes you can't better a good thing. My husband and I both agreed that the streusel topping was alright, but we like our pumpkin pie the traditional way without the streusel on top - Less work as well. Will make again, minus the topping.

Quick and Easy Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2004
Delicious. I did open a can of evaporated milk instead of using whipping cream and I never buy 1/2 and 1/2. I use a substitution recipe of 7oz. of milk to 3T. of butter for each cup of 1/2 and 1/2 called for in a recipe.(I used only 2 cups, not 4 cups of my 1/2 and 1/2 recipe.) I also cooked on HI for 3-4 hours in my slowcooker in case the dairy products curdled. Also added some leftover corn. A corny clam chowder. Yum.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2004
This recipe is definitely worth all the raves. Not only is it delicious, but its quick and easy, too. However, I didn't tell my guests that fact. I prepared a nice meal and I didn't spend the whole day stuck in the kitchen. Kudos!!!!

Chocolate Cherry Cake III

I made this cake for a July 4th party I hosted and it was a hit. I love these delicious cake mix recipes. With a few additonal ingredients and very little time, a nice dessert is presented in a jiffy.

Delicious. I took a mega sized bowl of this salad to a picnic and it all went. I'll add this salad recipe to my summertime repertoire.

Dill Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2004
Great dressing! So much tastier than bottled dressing for very little effort. I usually make double the amount of this dressing with canola oil or olive oil and it makes enough for about a week's worth of salads.

Instant Russian Tea

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2004
I have made this recipe several times already. At Christmastime I included it in the gift baskets I made for my sons's middle school teachers. A nice caffeine free alternative when I want a hot drink and want to limit my coffee consumption. Very satisfying!

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2004
Absolutely delicious. I took the dish to a pot luck event and there was none left to bring home. I tried it for the first time myself. I used 1/2 mayo, 1/2 sour cream, and there was a small amount of tomato bacon dressing in a bottle in my refrigerator that I used up. I saved time by using a bottle of bacon bits- no mess no frying. Will make again, for sure.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2004
Delicious! It must be the unusual addition of white wine that gives this dish a terrific flavor. I didn't have spaghetti and so I used penne which worked out fine. I also microwave the bacon and food process the onion, garlic, etc. which makes the recipe even easier. Have saved this recipe for the future.

Carnation® Quiche Lorraine

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2004
Tasty, but I did make a few adjustments. I almost always add about a teaspoon of dry mustard powder when using cheese. The flavor is definitly enhanced. I also sliced up very thinly a yellow pepper, that I wanted to use up,and microwave cooked it and then added it to the recipe. I am sure you can experiment with other veggies to enhance both the nutritional content and flavor. It worked for me.

Butternut Squash Casserole

This was a hit. I made this dish (without the topping because I was running short of time) as one of the side dishes this past Thanksgiving. Some of the guests told me that it was the best holiday meal they'd ever eaten and this dish received rave reviews.

Spinach Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
Delicious. I have made this soup several times when I needed something fast and easy that resembled dinner. I microwave the spinach right in the freezer box it comes in and boil the tortellini in the microwave. Doesn't get much easier or tastier.

Great recipe. I am so happy that my husband loves this chai version. He was getting a little to used to drinking the expensive Oregon Chai concentrate on a regular basis.
