Henry and Maudie's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
I was looking for a recipe using whole wheat flour and these were great. I couldn't tell the difference from my usual oatmeal cookie recipe. I did add 1 cup of raisins because we love them and also 1 tsp of cinnamon. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chicken Marsala Florentine

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Delicious with a couple modifications. I felt the butter was way too much. Only used 2 tablespoons. I also sauteed the mushrooms with a couple sliced garlic cloves before adding wine. I cut back on the sun-dried tomatoes to about 1/3 cup sliced and upped the spinach to about 2 cups. We loved it!!

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

We loved this! Very easy recipe. I used corn bread stuffing and mixed it with the butter before topping the chicken like others suggested. Otherwise followed the recipe exactly.

Coq au Vin alla Italiana

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This was delicious! I used chunky crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning blend in place of the rosemary. I also skinned the chicken and used both chicken breasts and thighs to keep eveyone in my family happy. Thanks so much for the recipe. We all LOVED it!

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
A bit time consuming but a wonderful cake. I too love coffee flavor so I took advice of previous reviewers and doubled everything coffee related (instant coffee, kahlua, brewed coffee)and was glad I did. I also made 2 coffee layers and one white. Everyone in my family loved it!!

Pork Chops with Fresh Tomato, Onion, Garlic, and Feta

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
Loved this recipe! The only change I made was using diced fresh plum tomatoes because our grocery store was out of grape tomatoes. Next time I will use them and would also love to try it with chicken.

Dill, Feta and Garlic Cream Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
Wonderful spread! And sooooo easy. I mixed it all in my food processor. The only thing I did different was use a little less feta (my own taste), used 2 teaspoons of dried dill weed (did not have fresh ) and added a tiny bit of milk to make it spread a little easier. Everyone was right that it gets better with time.

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2005
Wonderful soup recipe! The only thing I did different was use a combination of chicken broth and water 2:1 instead of the bouillon cubes. I served it in homemade bread bowls. My whole family loved it.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2005
I used low fat cheeses and mayo and it was just as yummy. Also 1/2 the jack cheese I used had jalepenos which others suggested and is highly recommended. I also used a 12 oz jar of the red peppers because that happened to be what I had on hand. Everyone at my party loved it!! Thanks, Mary!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
We loved these potatoes. I diced the onions instead of slicing them and mixed some cheese with a little bread crumbs to add on top. I also took the cover off for the last 15 minutes to brown it up. Delicious!!

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I cut the butter to 3/4 cup and there was still plenty. It is a very sweet corn bread (more like cake) but quite good. I brought it to a party and everyone loved it.

Italian Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I was a little confused by the instructions. It tells you to divide the dough in 2 but the recipe is for one loaf. Anyway, it was delicious . It was my first attempt at Italian Bread and my family all loved it! I also used your tip about baking it the extra five minutes while the lasagna I made was cooling. It worked great. Warm and crusty. Thanks, Verla!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
Absolutely delicious salad! I've made it a couple times for parties and everyone wants the recipe. I agree with the previous reviewers that said it makes a lot of dressing. The last time I used 1 1/2 pounds of the spinach and still had more than enough dressing. Perfect color combination for the holidays!

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I have to admit I was skeptical, at first, of the ingredients but I've made it for two functions now and everyone raved about it. The only thing I added was some thinly sliced red onion and once I used baby spinach. Absolutely wonderful either way!!!

Dip For The Stars

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2004
I wish I had taken everyone's advice and brought copies of the recipe with me . It makes a very large amount so I divided it and brought it to 2 parties. Everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. It is a little pricey to make but very good.
