Spinach Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2005
I served this at my last party and everyone loved it!! I only used a 6 oz bag of spinach because that was all I had and added some halved grape tomatoes. Delicious!!!!

Beef, Bean and Barley Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2005
I would have given it a much higher rating if it didn't have the caraway. It was too overpowering for my familiy's taste. I might try it again without it.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I cut the butter to 3/4 cup and there was still plenty. It is a very sweet corn bread (more like cake) but quite good. I brought it to a party and everyone loved it.

Italian Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I was a little confused by the instructions. It tells you to divide the dough in 2 but the recipe is for one loaf. Anyway, it was delicious . It was my first attempt at Italian Bread and my family all loved it! I also used your tip about baking it the extra five minutes while the lasagna I made was cooling. It worked great. Warm and crusty. Thanks, Verla!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
Absolutely delicious salad! I've made it a couple times for parties and everyone wants the recipe. I agree with the previous reviewers that said it makes a lot of dressing. The last time I used 1 1/2 pounds of the spinach and still had more than enough dressing. Perfect color combination for the holidays!

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I have to admit I was skeptical, at first, of the ingredients but I've made it for two functions now and everyone raved about it. The only thing I added was some thinly sliced red onion and once I used baby spinach. Absolutely wonderful either way!!!

Dip For The Stars

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2004
I wish I had taken everyone's advice and brought copies of the recipe with me . It makes a very large amount so I divided it and brought it to 2 parties. Everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. It is a little pricey to make but very good.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2004
This soup was wonderful. My husband asked if we could have the rest for the next night's dinner. The only substitution I used was original stewed tomatoes because I didn't have the Italian-style and then added some Italian seasoning. I also used an extra can of broth so I could add 1/2 cup of ditalini and still have enough broth as suggested earlier. And for those who thought it was too salty. Just use low-sodium beef broth. Mine wasn't salty at all. Thanks for the recipe, Karen.

Beezie's Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2004
I must have done somthing wrong. I cooked it much longer than was recommended and the beans were not cooked. I brought the soup to a work potluck and had to throw it out because the beans were still hard. Help! I would love to try it again because I loved the flavor. Did anyone else have this problem???
