I've been cooking by myself since I was about 9 and have loved it ever since! I love to cook for my friends and family. I'll use just about any excuse to try a new recipe or cuisine!

Cheese buttons(German ravioli)...served at Christmastime; Portzels(German fritters) and Shnitz soup for New Year's Eve
My cooking triumphs
Well most of my cooking is a triumph! I know that sounds concieted, but it's the honest truth! I've had some tradjedies though...and they tend to bad when they happen...hilarious...but bad!!!
My cooking tragedies
1 word sums it up...Kuchen... It's a German coffee cake and instead of dividing the dough up into 9 different baking dishes...I stuffed it all into 1! Since it's a yeast dough...one can imagine what happened! :P

Pumpkin, Spinach, and Feta Frittata
Yummy!!! I tried this recipe b/c it was the closest I could come to a pumpkin frittata that I had in Sydney about a week ago. I subbed butternut squash and reduced the cheese and added some cilantro, and corriander and it was great! I still have some tweaking to do before it's 5 star worthy, but I think it just needs a bit more butternut than I added and maybe a little more salt...great as is though...can't wait to make it for my bf...he'll love it!

Chicken and Rice Soup I
Yumm!!! I'm eating a big bowl right now..and it's really rich and creamy! I've gone vegan, which can be a challenge when you love cream, butter and cheese! I've found though(from this site) that you can use silken tofu in place of cream...just put it in the food processor with a little soy milk and voila`!! The other changes I made were to use soy protien in place of the chicken, I added broccoli, red pepper and used brown rice instead of white.

Robin's Sweet and Spicy Black Beans
Holy WOW! These are amazing! I left out the sugar, I've started following the "Eat to Live" diet/lifestyle, and they were plenty "sweet"! I used "Italian" style canned tomatoes and I think that's what made the recipe. I added a 4 oz. can of chopped green chiles since they had not been in the tomatoes like the recipe calls for. My freinds who have tried RAVED! It's great over rice...but it's also fabulous alone as a thick stew. Try it...you'll LOVE it!
