Simple and delicious! I made some into Snickerdoodles by rolling them in cinnamon and sugar. I LOVE chewy cookies, and these are the perfect texture. The butter mixture looked kinda weird and curdled after I added the vanilla extract, but it didn't seem to affect the chemistry or the flavor. Also, I had never baked cookies by just putting golf-ball-sized spheres on the pan rather than shaping them in some way, but it works perfectly! They turned into perfect, golden, cookie-shaped rounds which practically hovered above the parchment paper. (I didn't believe you could really put them on an unprepared pan, but I was wrong, it seems.) I did have to cook them a lot longer (maybe 24 minutes or so!) but I think that's 'cause I'd just made custard in a water bath, so there was a LOT of moisture in the oven. Anyway, thanks for the recipe - it's great!!
