Heather's Healthy Oatmeal Surprises

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2005
These cookies tasted great, but maybe I didn't leave them in the oven long enough, because they weren't as crispy as I would've liked. Also, these cookies don't spread much, so flatten them before putting them in the oven. I made mine small and ended up with about 4 dozen. The dough can become very sticky and unworkable, so stick it into the fridge between batches. Some changes I made: I added in 1/2 tsp of cloves and cut down the white sugar to 1/4 cup. I also put in 1c raisins, 3/4c walnuts, and 1/2c pecans instead of the chips. Next time, I think I'll add even more nuts.

Mocha Walnut Pie

Absolutely delicious - I couldn't stop eating it! Wouldn't change a thing, except to experiment with new crusts, as my crust came out way too soft.

Baked French Fries II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2004
Baked these and left them in the living room to cool while I made another batch. When I came out, they were all gone! ;) Healthy and tasty - what more can you ask for?

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2004
I made these after trying coconut cookies at Cookie Island (in NYC) and they were just as good, if not better! Try adding chocolate chips or nuts for a kick.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2004
I made these twice. My first batch was darker in color and a lot less sticky. It baked well and held its shape - tasty :) My second batch, however, was lighter in color and waaay too sticky. It spread like mad when baking, though the taste was the same. I'm sure I didn't leave out any ingredients - the only thing that was different was that I used a different brand of molasses. I'm not sure if that could have been it, but either way, these are delicious cookies, shaped or misshaped ;)

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2004
mm! not only do these look great, they taste great =) i baked these at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. this recipe is similar to the "best chocolate chip cookies" recipe except a little less baking soda and of course, it's half/half. i also decided to make some plain chocolate chip and some plain chocolate white chip, and they were just as good. i might have made mine a little small, because i ended up with over 6 dozen, but everybody loves them and is eating them up in no time!

Shortbread Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2004
These are so easy! The ingredients are really basic, but the cookies come out really great. Crunchy on the outside, but then they melt in your mouth. The dough was too soft and sticky to roll out, and I don't own a cookie press, so I just rolled them into balls in my hands and flattened them using a fork to form a criss-cross design.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2004
mmm...delicious! Best right out of the oven. I topped mine with garlic salt, ground cinnamon, ranch dressing mix, and/or cheese sprinkles before baking, and they were great - gone in one night. The dough was hard to knead at first because it was supersticky. After that, it was a little difficult to roll it out as thin as the recipe asked, so I just made thicker, smaller pretzels. This was my second time making pretzels - I used the "Buttery Soft Pretzels" recipe the first time, and this was way better!
