Linguine with Seafood and Sundried Tomatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2004
Excellent. I used sea scallops instead (the bigger ones) and added a little white wine and lemon juice to the seafood. Served it over angel hair pasta and sprinkled with some parmesean cheese. My husband and I cleaned our plates. Thanks!

Great Easy Waffles

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
Good but next time I'll halve the butter and leave out the lemon.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
Really good. I did increase the sugar a little per the reviews but not so sure they needed it, especially with sweet icing. Next time I may try the recipe as written. I did double the vanilla, though, and would do that again. Also, you really need to watch to make sure you don't overcook them. They go from done to overdone really fast. This recipe is a keeper for sure. Thanks!

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2004
I used both shrimp and scallops for this recipe and they came out wonderful. Served with grilled vegetables and it was a great meal. Thanks, Holly!

Broccoli Casserole I

I used fresh broccoli and grated cheddar cheese and it was just okay.

Peach Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
I had high hopes for this recipe, but mine came out terrible. I followed the recipe mostly to the letter, except I added more peaches. Probably because I used more peaches, they didn't cook fully -- even after extra oven time and then they stuck to the pan. Plus I think they're too buttery/rich/heavy. I think a lower temp for a longer time, with the peaches cut into smaller pieces, using paper muffin cups and cutting the butter with applesauce (or just leaving some out?), this may be okay. But the way it turned out for me, I have to give it just two stars.

Owen's Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2004
Great basic stir-fry recipe. You can really use whatever vegetables you have in the house. I used carrots, scallions and snow pea pods. I also added scallops. It came out really, really good. Will definitely make again. Thanks!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2004
This recipe is excellent but is even better if you substitute one can of beer for the water and add a couple of squirts of ketchup.

Fruity Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2004
I used this marinade for pork chops - since it is only my husband and me - and it came out fabulous! I was a little skeptical about the ingredients, but I followed the recipe exactly and it was wonderful. I found the plum jam in the ethnic section of my food store - imported from Poland of all places. Will definitely make again. Thanks!

Jollof Rice

Pretty good! I used cut up chicken breast that I browned with the onion. Good flavor and my husband liked it too. Will probably make again. Thanks!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2003
The fish came out nice and tender but it's way too cheesy for my and my husband's taste. We prefer just a little lemon and pepper so you can taste the flavor of the fish. Probably won't make it again.

Magic Cookie Bars II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
I didn't care for these. Way too sweet and the graham cracker crust just doesn't do it for me. Won't make again. (I followed recipe exactly except I left out the butterscotch chips since I didn't have any.)

Wonderful Waffles

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly. They have nice texture but a bit eggy for my taste, and I agree with other reviewers that they don't have much flavor. A lot of work, too. My family enjoyed them enough, but I probably won't make again.

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I thought this salad was good, but on the advice of others I halved the oregano and still thought it was too strong. Definitely needs less, probably more like 1/2 tbsp. I also added provolone cheese, used roasted red peppers instead of fresh and reconstitued sundried tomatoes instead of fresh. All in all it was very good.

Chili Vegetarian Style

Very good! I cut the Splenda in half, didn't want it too sweet, and it came out perfect. I added a little cayenne too, as suggested, to make it hotter. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. Excellent recipe!

Alfredo Light

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2004
I thought it was very good and very thick. I halved the recipe and maybe I used too much pasta to not enough sauce, but it made it very thick. It was very good and I will definitely make again.

California-Thai Flank Steak

Excellent flavor! I couldn't find lemongrass, I didn't have coriander and I only marinated it for four hours, but it was still great! My husband loved it too. Will definitely make again. Thanks!

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2004
I followed the recipe exactly with the only exception being I used two packages of Neufatchel cheese and the rest cream cheese. It came out a little "loose" in the middle, but that may be because of the lighter cheese. Other than that, it had very good flavor and I thought the crust was perfect for the cake. If I make again I will probably use all cream cheese.
