Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
These came out great! I actually got 16 rolls out of this recipe. I made the following changes: I used my kitchenaid mixer and added 6 additional tb flour during the 5 minute kneading with the dough hook. I rolled it into a 10 x 16" rectangle and cut into 16 pieces. I also doubled the cinnamon, and frosted with a cream cheese and butter frosting someone else posted in a review. I baked them in a 10" square aluminum (wilton) cake pan for 20 minutes, but I think it might be better to cut the temp down by 25 degrees. Also, I'd probably cut down the brown sugar to 2/3c or 3/4c next time as it was a little much, but still delicious anyway.

Cream Cheese Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
I love this recipe!! Very versatile and great for various "tweaks". The cookie comes out so tender and delicate and just plain delicious. It is now one that will be permanently in my Christmas cookie collection.

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
It was *okay*. We certainly ate it, but from the reviews, I thought it would be a new favorite side dish for T'giving. My problem with it was that it wasn't creamy cheesy, and that is what I was hoping for. There is very little cheese flavor, IMO. I'll keep looking for a different recipe.

Cranberry Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
I have no idea how these taste, as they are still in the oven. I wish I had read these reviews first; I usually do that. The dough was wayyyyy too sticky. So I figured I'd do drop scones instead of rolling them out. I have made scones that way before. Well, these are in the oven and are all spread out. I'm sure these need at least 1/4 to 1/4 cup more of flour. What a waste of good ingredients.

Spiced Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This is an awesome recipe! I have been searching for the longest time for a recipe that tastes like the Roasted Butternut Squash soup that is served in the Wolfgang Puck's cafes. The restaurant that was near us is gone now, so I haven't had that soup in a few years. I made a few changes to the recipe to try and replicate it. I used 12c water + 4ts of kosher salt in place of the chicken broth. I omitted the leeks and the sherry, added 1tb sugar, and I replaced the nutmeg with cinnamon. Although it has been several years since I had the soup at Pucks, this one sure is as good as I can remember it!

Frost-Bites

This is a Sunmaid Raisins recipe. I've been making it for years. I have found that adding 1/4c flour helps keep them from spreading out and getting too thin.

Lemon Square Bars

Excellent. Nice and lemony, and gooey with thick lemon filling. I was skeptical when I saw how sticky the crust dough was, but it came out great!

Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
This is a great recipe for customizing. I used the same basic recipe, only the changes I made were: omit hazelnuts and choc chips, instead I added 1/2 cup currants and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, and I added a couple of dashes of baking spice (Penzeys) and changed the almond extract to 1 ts vanilla, 1/2 ts almond. These were wonderful and my family scarfed them all down. I'm lucky I even got one!

Sugar Cookie Drops

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2004
Finally! I have been searching for a chewy drop sugar cookie. I have tweaked several recipes trying to come up with a perfect one and this one is great. I didn't even roll into balls, just used a cookie scoop and rolled them in coarse raw sugar, then flattened slightly. I could barely wait for the 8 minutes to be up.

Yummy Yam Casserole

This was delicious! I will definitely make it again, but next time I will cut it in half. I served 10 people on Christmas Eve and there was still a lot left! Everyone loved it.
