About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom of 3 beautiful children. My husband and I have been married for 16 years. We do worship music together and love kayaking, running, and cooking together.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make main dishes and desserts. I love throwing in a dash of this and a pinch of that, but it makes it hard when someone asks for a recipe. :-)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas morning after the kids have opened gifts, my husband and I get in the kitchen and make a huge breakfast. Then we sit down and chow, staying in our pj's all day!
My cooking triumphs
recently I found a recipe for a totally from scratch strawberry cake/cupcakes with strawberry buttercream. I loved it because there was no strawberry gelatin or box cake involved. Just fresh strawberries! I tweaked it a hair and Oh Momma!! It was perfect!
My cooking tragedies
I have been known to burn green beans on more than one occasion. I know... it's really freaky!

Sour Cream Cornbread
This is the only cornbread our oldest daughter will eat. We went to New Orleans a few summers ago for a mission trip. While there we ate several authentic N'rleans meals. They had cornbread one night and our daughter, who does not like cornbread, ate 3 helpings! LOL I made this to go with soup and she said this was just as good if not better as the cornbread she had that night, so this is now my go to recipe. My only change is to use greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Very good!

Best Brownies
These were just OK for me. The taste was fine, but they did not make a tall, fluffy brownie like a prefer. I will stick with my fudgey brownie recipe. Thank you for submitting though

Three Cheese Manicotti II
Delicious, delicious, delicious! I've made these several times and will be making them again this week. They are just so wonderful. I too cut the boiling time down for the shells so they would be easier to fill. Snipped a corner off a gallon bag, put my cheese filling in and pipped into the shells.. easy, breezy. I also went ahead and placed my cheese on top and covered with foil, then removed for the last 5 mins or so to brown slightly. Served with homemade french loaf and salad. Fantastic!
