Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
This was really good. Mushroom cooked all the way. I used baby portobello mushrooms. I would put a touch of salt and pepper in the caps before filling. I could only get imitation crab but it did come out very tasty. I even mixed up about a tablespoon of yellow mustard with about three tablespoons mayonnaise with a teaspoon of horseradish for a sauce option.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Wow this is soooooo good. Great corn flavor. Made as recipe directs. I could see adding green onion or cooked crumbled bacon after it cooks. Big hit!

So easy! I did use the chocolate sauce recipe given by one of the reviewers, but the rest was according to the recipe. Huge hit with the family!

Restaurant Style Beef and Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
Salty maybe, it just seemed like the sauce gave it a one dimensional flavor. I'd probably up the garlic and ginger next time. It was good, but like I said, one note flavor.

Cottage Noodles and Cabbage

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
Almost as good as Babcia's...but nothing is as good as a Babcia can cook. We used bow tie pasta because we had it, but the rest was as written. Just what we wanted...a taste of childhood.

Restaurant-Style Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
Made this for Christmas dinner this year and it worked very well. Mom is an awful cook, she will admit it. I learned this from her years ago and have used this technique on rump roasts and whole pork loins. Who knew she had a great trick in this! Juicy!

Zucchini Cheese Garlic Appetizer

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2013
Outstanding! Well seasoned and and a nice, quick, easy side dish. Re-heat in oven ( 350 deg for about 5-10 min.) microwave does not do it justice. Believe it or not, tastes great with applesauce.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
Very flavorful and moist. The second time I made it, I got brave and added a few pinches of cardamom and nutmeg. It had a nice flavor both ways, additions gave depth.

Crispy Fish Fillets

Yummy. Crispy. I did what others suggested with the flour dusting. Other than that, followed the recipe. Sooooo easy to make. No mustard taste which is weird, but true.

Pesto Quinoa

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
I don't like quinoa because I find it bitter. I rinse it well, maybe it's just me....BUT making it with pesto is a great idea and the bitter edge is mostly gone. Family loved it too.

Portuguese Kale Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
My grocer had awful linguica (spell?) but this recipe was a great start. The next time I used a nice smokey kielbasa and the soup was much nicer. Even better the next day.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
A true crowd pleaser as is. I was surprised that is was actually creamy and not watery, as can happen as slaw sits. Guess it's the oil that does it. Now my go to slaw recipe!

Chunky Tomato Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2013
Followed the recipe and it was really good. I was surprised at the cornstarch ( only 1tablespoon) but it gave it that made with cream silky texture that the potatoes alone can't give it. With summer around the corner, I can imagine this with some fresh zucchini, fresh basil, maybe even eggplant.
