Chocolate Caramel Nut Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 20, 2004
Good cheesecake. It was relatively easy to make. It might be better with one more Snickers bar. Also, don't bake it too long. Mine was a bit rubbery.

Caroline's Chocolate Fudge Frosting

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
Very fudgy and delicious icing. My husband requested a chocolate cake with fudge icing for his birthday and he was delighted with this icing.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: May 11, 2004
The taste was awesome. However, I used 5 T. cornstarch with frozen blueberries as suggested in other reviews and it still turned out soupy. I will definitely try again, next time thawing out the blueberries first and mixing in the cornstarch mixture better. Hopefully I can find the right formula because I love this pie!

Grandma's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: May 11, 2004
Excellent pie crust. It was easy to work with and it turned out fabulous. I made "Blueberry Pie" from this site and used a lattice top. It was beautiful. I still can't believe I'm able to make a homemade pie turn out so well. :-) Since I had quite a bit of dough left over, I rolled it out, cut it into strips and baked them with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top. My kids ate them up in no time.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2004
Exceptional french bread! It makes two loafs and my kids had it all scarfed down before my husband or I could get a second piece. Obviously this will be a regular bread on our table. :-)

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2004
Excellent! This was so easy and exactly what I was looking for in an alfredo sauce. My family loved it and I'll be making it again. My only recommendations are to add more salt and more garlic (personal preference). I'm also going to try it with lower fat cream cheese just to decrease some of the high fat content.

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2004
Very delicous. I added extra strawberries as suggested and it was very hard to get the bread done in the middle. Be sure to bake this beyond when you think it is done. The strawberries add a moistness that requires more time to bake.

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2004
Excellent! I omitted the chocolate chips since the textrue wasn't right with a similar chocolate cake I previously tried. I dusted it with powdered sugar, but a few of the ultra chocolate lovers in the family would love to have chocolate frosting on top.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2004
Superb! My family could hardly believe I made something so beautiful and decadent. All my kids are asking for this for their next birthday cake. I found this fairly easy to make and very inexpensive compared to ice cream cakes at DQ or other local restaurants. This will be a family favorite. And it will be a perfect dessert in the heat of summertime.

Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2004
This recipe was disappointing. There was not enough butter included in the recipe to hold the crust together, therefore every piece was a mess when it came out of the pan. In my opinion, there was not near enough filling in the cheesecake. Mine turned out very thin....less than 2 inches high. The caramel/nut mixture above the crust was too tough. I also put caramel, chocolate shavings, and nuts on the top....and with the cheesecake part so minimal, the topping overwhelmed the cheesecake. If I make this type cheesecake again, I'll use the Turtle Cheesecake recipe (also on this site) since it uses much more butter for the crust and extra cream cheese for the filling. I'll also skip the caramel and nuts on the crust and only put them on the top of the cooled cheesecake.

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2004
Since I left out several ingredients (sugar, dry mustard, and cloves) and substitued water for the juice (seemed like it didn't need juice with the can of jellied sauce), I may not have given this recipe its best shot. The pork was very tender and had a mild flavor, but it definitely needed salt. I'll probably make this again, but adjust it hoping to perfect its taste.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2004
Good, but not the best. I added vanilla and milk as suggested. I also carefully measured the brown sugar and let the batter sit at RT for a time to firm up the batter for soft cookies (as the pastry chef suggested), but these cookies didn't come out any better than those with my two favorite CCC recipes.

French Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2004
This bread was absolutely delicious! I cut the recipe in half and put it in the bread machine for the first rising. Then I punched it down, let it rest, and then rolled it out into a rectangle, etc. To me the end product looked a lot harder to make than it really was. My husband was very impressed. I will make this recipe again and again.
