Our neighbor came to our house this weekend with a grocery bag full of cucumbers.  Now, I love cucumbers and my girls love cucumbers -- but I knew that there was no way we would be able to eat all of these cucumbers before they went bad without having cucumbers coming out of our… MORE

About Me
My favorite things to cook
I love Strogenauff, Albondigas, Empenadas, Lasagne, Beef Stew, and Stuffed Peppers. I also love quick and easy recipes that are hard to mess up!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking together with family. Too many cooks may spoil the broth, but there can never be enough hands in the kitchen as far as I'm concerned. I love congregating around the stove to chat while cooking!
My cooking triumphs
First: Getting my mom to let me alter her Beef Strogenauff recipe by adding garlic and fresh mushrooms. She was very skeptical but once she tried it, she loved it! Second: Making home-made flan and getting it right the first time. Third: Creating a S'More Pie which won a dessert contest at church.
My cooking tragedies
Numerous. I haven't completely grasped the science and art of cooking yet. I have to follow the recipe to the letter most of the time and make small changes instead of trying to be creative.
