Lemon Pie Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
Wow! Wow!!! These bars are great as is. The recipe yields a good 50/50 split between crust and filling. If you like more filling, I went with another half-again on the filling ingredients with the orginal amount for the crust with spectacular results. Great recipe, kukadog!

Ingrid's Caesar Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
This is quite simply the best Caesar dressing I've ever made at home, and I've tried lots! For a no-fail, everyone loves it version, stick to the original recipe and it will never let you or your guests down. After using this recipe several times, I've begun experimenting with it. I've substituted the blue cheese salad dressing with ranch and creamy italian with stellar results, so don't be afraid to use what you have on hand. With a bit of experimentation, I've also discovered that you can cut down on the amount of olive oil, or omit it all together if you're trying to save fat/calories. Thank you Kirsten and Ingrid! This one I will keep always!

Holiday Chicken Salad

Great salad as is! Easy to adjust for personal preference. Just remember, you need something crunchy, something sweet, something tart and some nuts. Use what you like. The spices are spot on, though. Fantastic!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
Don't let the simplicity of this recipe fool you. This was the tastiest week-night roasted chicken! I usually cook my chicken low and slow, but needed a quick recipe for busy week-nights. This hits the mark. The keys to this recipe are the margarine and the cooking temperature/time. Everything else, from the vegetables to the spices, are completely up to you, so use what you and your family like. Great recipe, Robin!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

This recipe is fantastic! The sauce has become my go-to terriyaki sauce for any stir-fry I can conceive of. I use fresh ginger and red pepper flakes to add a bit of a kick. Thanks, Marian for a superb recipe.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Wow, Joe! Unbelievable recipe. I let the bread machine do the heavy lifting on the dough setting, then I scooped it out of the machine, formed it into a round and proofed it for a further 40 minutes. Baking at 375 for 27 minutes yields a lofty, fluffy italian bread with a perfectly thick, crunchy crust. I brushed it with olive oil when it came out of the oven and that softened the crust just a touch. Incredible! Husband raved!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

My goodness! These are simply the most delicious snickerdoodles I've ever made. I don't always have shortening on hand, but I find that the recipe doesn't suffer for using all butter. Not sure who Mrs. Sigg is, but she deserves a huge hug for these family-pleasing cookies. Great job!

White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
I've been on a 20 year search for a "traditional" wedding cake recipe as I'm not a fan of the boxed cakes folks are sold for their weddings these days. This recipe hit the mark! This tastes like wedding cake from 30 years ago; a bit heavy-textured and really moist, with a great vanilla/almondy flavor. Perfect!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
This is a great pizza crust! It's easy to make, is easy to work with and tastes awesome every time! I make this recipe in my bread machine, which makes it even easier. If you like thin crust, this recipe will yield 2 large pizzas. I you only need 1, this recipe freezes like a dream! After the dough rises and is ready to be rolled out, just divide in half, spray the spare half with a tiny bit of oil and then wrap in plastic wrap, place in a ziplock back and throw it in the freezer. When you're ready to use it, take it out of the freezer 3-4 hours prior to use, unwrap it, and let it sit at room temp. or in a slightly warm spot to thaw and rise one more time. Perfect!

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
These brownies are fantastic! I did make them with melted butter instead of oil because I wanted the extra richness. That definitely did it! I have to agree with some other reviewers that said they were too greasy. I'll probably skip greasing the pan next time. However, once cooled, I placed a plate on top of the pan and turned the brownies out, upside down. I then covered the now exposed bottom with 2 paper towels and carefully flipped them back over. The paper towels soaked upmall the extra grease and then they were TO DIE FOR! Wonderful!
