Unlike other reviews, I found no overwhelming beer taste... Perhaps it's because I used a quality Belgian wheat instead of a cheap gut-rot inducing beer. I totally skipped the chiles (mainly because I skimmed over the ingredients when putting together) and added instead a mix of cumin, chili powder, can of tomato paste, and a touch of cayenne half way thru.
Gave a nice heat and nice aroma as it simmered. Used 2 chicken breasts and found that to be more than enough. This turned out more like a thick chili than a soup. I recommend to use frozen corn instead of canned, much better taste. All in all it was easy to toss together and was easy to spice up to my liking. Will make this one again for sure.
