Cinnamon Sour Cream Biscuits

These are very good! I think the addition of cinnamon chips would make them outstanding!! I also substituted half shortening and half butter for the margarine.

Best Buckwheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
Great Recipe! I doubled the recipe except for the salt which I left at 1 tsp. I also subed virgin coccnut oil for the veg oil and white whole wheat flour for the AP flour. (3/4 c. white ww) and 3/4c. buckwheat) I let the batter sit for about 10 min and the pancakes were light, fluffy and delicious!!

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
An excellent sweet bran muffin!! I made as witten except I substituted craisins for raisins, and I used extra virgin coconut oil (EXTREMELY healthy for you!! please research for yourself!) for the veg oil. The very subtle coconut flavor paired well w/ the bran! :)

Baked Beans from Scratch

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
WAY too sweet!! I will omit the brown sugar or maple syrup next time. Maybe add a little bacon for depth of flavor.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
SUPERB!!! I follow the directions exactly minus the fact that I used all 60-63% cacao dark chocolate (Guittard and Ghirardelli) instead of the semisweet and milk chocolate. It will be my go to fudge recipe!! Thanks!!

Homemade Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
4 stars for the original recipe. Definately only boil 7 minutes... it WILL thicken upon cooling. I doubled the recipe and used only brown sugar with the corn syrup, and I only had maple extract. It waseven better than the original recipe!!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
GREAT soft cookie!! I have always used old fashioned oats since I like a hearty texture, but these had a wonderful more even oatmeal texture. I also DID NOT grease the pans and the cookies can off w/ no sticking! :) I added white choc chips and craisins... LOVED by all :)

Quinoa and Black Beans

Fantastic!! I halved the recipe and 1 can was a little too many beans, but the flavor was excellent! I added a few chopped, pickled jalapenos and put it on a tortilla w/ mexican cheese... WOW!! Thanks for the super healthy delicious meal!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
My main comment/complaint with the wa the recipe was written is with the word roux". Do NOT expect a "paste"! Because if you add more flour to make a true pastey roux (which is equal parts flour to fat) your mixture will NOT be pourable, which is essential. So just follow the butter and flour amounts...cook the two together for about a minute (smells toasty) and add the water and sugars. Forget the paste or the word roux!

Delicious! But I decreased the crust's butter and powdered sugar to 3/4c, and I added lemon zest and increased the lemon juice to 3/4c for the filling. Tart but not bitter :) PERFECT :)

Excellent as-is!! No need for vanilla or extra topping (I made 12 regular) and the sweet crumb topping is the perfect balance to the mild blueberry not super sweet muffin. PERFECT!

Excellent bread! Nice crunchy crust and a moist, tender, sweet middle. I would recommend letting the bread round sit for about 30 min at room temp to allow it to riseand develop texture. YUM!

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
Delicious with 1/2 cup of butter and 1/4 c applesauce with oats. I also added a splash of vanilla to the chocolate and peanut butter mixture. I also used a 13x9 in pan. The amount of oat mix and chocolate still worked just thinner.
