Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
Tried it exactly; Except I gave it a shot with Brown sugar Splenda and you know what? They were delicious. Very rich. Be careful if you use the brown sugar splenda- it started smoking at about 9 minutes! Good luck!

Im just going to say interesting. I felt like they were really greasy but what would you expect?? Just feel like the nutritional value kinda went down.

Nice compliment to ham. Holy Calorie. But a nice sidedish nonetheless, my whole family commented and said it was good.

Coconut Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Pretty great. I am going to play with it though, and do so using the shredded coconut. Since there are so many everyday ingredients, I just don't see myself using "fresh flaked coconut" unless for a special occassion. Maybe thats why I didn't give it 5 stars.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
I really cannot even tell you how many people consistantly commented to each other and myself how much they enjoyed this salad. I brought it to a gathering of about 10 women and I added the dressing when I arrived. Made the dressing exactly as the recipe called, except I bought a bottle of balsamic rasberry vinegar. I really loved this and it looks great for the Holidays. Love it.

Vegetable and Feta Latkes

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
I was really very impressed with these. If you take the potato mixture in your hands and take the time to shape them nicely, they really look beautiful when golden. The parsley is nice touch, I think I would miss it if i hadnt added it. No one in my family has ever raved about feta cheese or zuchinni (sp?) But what a success. I made it a point to keep everyone out of the kitchen when I was preparing them and not to let in on the healthy ingredients. I served with applesauce along with grilled pork chops I made with a papaya/pineapple marinade. marinade.

Brown Sugar Shortbread

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Delectable! I was pleasantly surprised by only three ingredients. They didnt look the greatest because I admit I didnt put much care in the way that I cut them. About 8 people in my family tried them and all commented on how good they were. I felt like a million bucks and found it hard not to inform everyone- THERE WERE ONLY 3 DARN INGREDIENTS AND even my little sister could make them and beam with pride. Also I'll add that these cookies would be perfect to give as a gift. You could have them done and cooled 2 hours before packaging them up and blessing someone with these rich cookies. Today I am going to give them a shot with the brown sugar Splenda which I found for 4.99 at my supermarket. Both of my Grandparents are diabetic and I know I can make a pretty package and drop them off for the both of them. Tasted similar to a pecan sandie, and I also wanted to add that I added about 3/4 cup of whole wheat flour and it was a nice addition. I really reccomend these and hope my review helps.

Chicken Suiza Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
My family enjoyed this and I loved the corn bread bottom but did find it to be a tad sweet. The criticisms from the family was there wasnt enough of the chicken mix. It was overkill with so much cornbread. Also, as other reviewers have said, try to keep the chicken mixture away from the sides. Thank you, great recipe.

Salmon Patties I

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
I will say I made quite a few changes but I do feel that this is a great base recipe. I read pretty much every review up to date and was inspired. I did use 2 eggs and I did a mixture of italian seasoned crackers, and buttered round crackers. Nice mix. I chopped up a bit of fresh parsley and loved the addition of old bay. Wow thats alot of changes- but i really did enjoy the additions and plan on making it different each time. The last and tastiest change was coating each cake with panko. Fantastic, the family raved.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
This is a relatively easy recipe and it tasted delicious. I used leftover ham from the ham/cola/slow cooker recipe. When I chopped up the ham, I cut 3/4 of the ham in medium sized cubes and chopped the rest into smaller bits so no matter what in each spoonful there was a bit of ham. I also opted for chicken broth and Yukon Gold Potatoes. My absolute favorite touch to the recipe was instead of plain yellow onions, I thinly sliced the tops of green onions and put them in near the very end. That small addition still gave great flavor, but added to the look of the dish, making it look prettier and more elegant. Will certainly make again.

Carol's Arroz Con Pollo

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
My family all enjoyed this and asked for seconds. I was happy to find saffron in my grandmothers cabinet, I wasn't looking forward to finding it or spending alot on it. I added diced tomatoes that had garlic and olive oil, and that added to the flavor. I removed the chicken for 2-3 minutes just to add the liquid ingredients and the rice. I then placed the chicken atop the rice, in order to cook through, but also so the chicken could continue picking up all the flavors. I know I will be making this again. Maybe in a week or so.

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2004
What a HUGE surprise, i saw so many others reviews and though I was repulsed at the idea of this recipe, I tried it trusting all of you, I was not let down at all. This dish was wonderful. It is very forgiving and perfect for a beginning cook. One thing I will suggest is that it looks pretty, (for company) and a bit more apetizing with a sprinkle of paprika, some dry parsley and a few shakes of permasan. Then it looks as good as it tastes, also, I diced mine, and did not bother with peeling. Thank you!

Chow Mein Clusters

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2004
This recipe really surprised and impressed me. The limited ingredients gave me doubts and i am not a buttersctotch fan, I also had the urge to throw in some raisins in half the batch. That was amazing to me! I would recommend it if you tried half and half some with raisins some without.I also popped them in the freezer for ten minutes, they pop right off the foil and you are left with one pot and one spoon to clean!!!!
