Fennel Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
This recipe was delicious but it needed just a minor adjustment. I sautéed some potatoes with the fennel and then put the entire pot of soup in the blender and left it just a little chunky. I would definitely recommend this soup!

Portuguese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
I made this recipe just as it was written but I used white beans instead of kidney because that is what I had and it was amazing!! Love this recipe. Ketchup and vinegar in a soup sounds strange but it totally works.

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
I made it just as the recipe stated but it turned out dry and the cheese was leaking out everywhere. Then I halved the biscuit baking mix and used 12oz of cheese and it was perfect.

Easy Corn Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
I made this recipe just as it was written and it was good but very buttery. Then I made it again and left out the butter all together. It was just as fabulous and much healthier. It doesn't need the butter at all! Either way you make it, it takes closer to an hour to cook in a two quart casserole dish.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: May 18, 2013
This might be the worst white cake recipe I have ever made. The cake could not be more dry. The kids took one bite then just ate the frosting! It needs oil or applesauce or something. I only cooked it for 16 minutes. Oh well, it was made with love.

Tomato Bisque III

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2013
This was so delicious! I omitted the heavy cream and used avocado oil instead of butter. My husband loved it! You definitely don't need the cream, it's great without it.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2012
Okay...this is my first review of a recipe. I made this bread just like the recipes stated and it was soooooo good! Then I made a few changes simply to make it more nutritous and lower calorie. I used applesauce for the oil, vanilla Greek yogurt for the buttermilk, 1/2 brown sugar 1/2 stevia, 1/4 c egg beater and 1real egg, 1/2 whole wheat flour 1/2 all purpose flour. My family loved the healthier version! I only had two smaller loaf pans so I reduced the temp to 325 and baked them for 50 minutes.....perfect! I added chocolate chips to one loaf. This is a great recipe that you can easily modify to meet your own taste.
