My favorite family cooking traditions
as a family, the holidays are important, we come togeather and spend days before cooking and baking. we always have the chillins right beside us as we share and teach our family recipes, shhh they are a secret!

every dish that made the person eating it grown in happiness as they chew!
My cooking tragedies
.... REALLY? OK... maybe a few but the other tradition we do is create a meal, in which we let the kids and us dream up and make it, lol! sometimes awesome.... sometimes its spit and order pizza lol! but as great grandma said in broken english, make what sounds good in your heart and tastes good in your mouth!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style
made this with a few minor spice tweeks, and one thing you definitely have to do is TENT THE PAN WITH TINFOIL TIGHTLY!! and cut the baking time a bit. our chicken was fall off the bone good and VERY moist! your chicken will brown in the tinfoil. mine did!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup
I loved it and better yet so did my family!! a definite keeper! like many I added my twists on it, like fresh tomatoes instead of canned, black beans and pinto beans w chili beans, also omitted soup and used tomato sauce seasoned with chili powder and cumin. I also used my favorite salsa a peach pineapple from safeway select, yum!and low sodium chix bouillon. then threw it all in the slow cooker to simmer all day.
