Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2006
...REALLY good flavor! I only had 1 can of kidney beans so I threw in a can of ranch and left out the cannellini...I used 2 cans of diced tomatoes that I put in the blender with the garlic. Slow cooked all day on low..served over tortilla chips and topped with cheddar cheese and sour cream...Next time I will double and freeze half. Really good chili!

...Sub'd celery for the broc and added more seasoning...REAL cheese and veggies were good..next time I will put the veggies and broth in the blender for a smoother consistency. This was even good the next day with a roll and salad... :)

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
...I used 3 chicken breast cut into strips and made only half of the cracker crumbs. I didn't have potato flakes so used dry potato soup mix and made some honey-mustard dipping sauce to go with...I liked the fact that the chicken doesn't get lost in the breading...yummy lunch...thx Cassie.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
...This soup is good as written. What comes to mind is more of a SW chili...The second time I made this, cooked my onion with the beef and added some roasted garlic, salt and pepper...I replaced the tomato sauce with cream of tomato soup, added more green chilies and a bottle of beer for the water. Ladled this over tortilla chips and topped with shredded cheddar...very good AND easy. I let this slow cook on low all afternoon..will play with this one again..Thanks for a great post. :)

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2006
I made exactly as written...My variation was strawberry preserves in the middle. Nothing outstanding about the taste of the muffin..it's the fact that you make them your own by what you mix in..I will be using this recipe a lot and am anxious to try a savory variation next.. :)

Cappuccino on Ice

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2006
..this was good. I ended up using the last of my regular coffee so don't think it was quite strong enough. By the time I finished it was really watered down..might throw it in the blender next time.

Broccoli Quiche with Mashed Potato Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
...I tried this recipe because I liked the idea of a potato crust..I used 10 small peeled red potatoes and proceeded as written...The first thing you taste is the crunchy broccoli (small dice) and the egg..next I could taste the potato crust(crunchy on the edges more mashed in the center). Fairly good flavor..will try this again with more seasoning and cheese...thanks!!

Butter Tart Muffins

Reviewed: May 30, 2006
...Sweet..good texture with slightly crunchy tops...raisins kinda pop in your mouth when you bite down on one of these...Fill your muffin cups full as these do not rise (I ended up with 15)...I baked at 350 for 20 and left off the maple syrup...kids loved them right out of the oven. Hope they are just as good later...
