About this Cook
Im a stay at home mom of 3. My husband is a professional firefighter, and we have been married for 10 years. I love to bake and to decorate cakes. My dream is to one day own a bakery/specialty cake shop.
My favorite things to cook
DESSERT!! I love to bake cookies and cakes and bread, but I also like to try new recipes, too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We dont really have any cooking traditions in my family. I wasnt ever allowed in the Kitchen, and until I got married, I could barely boil water. Im much better now!
My cooking triumphs
Cooking for our friends. My husband's best friend's wife never cooks, so when he comes to my house he raves about what a wonderful cook I am. I love it!
My cooking tragedies
Ah so many, where to begin.....Once,when I was still single, my mom gave me a glass casserole dish that was for the oven only. I didnt know you couldnt cook on the stove top with it! Anyway, it exploded and left a big mess. End of story. Lesson learned.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins
These tasted pretty good, but they were super greasy! As in, the oil was pooling in the bottom of the muffin pan when I pulled them out of the oven. Not sure what went wrong, as I followed the recipe exactly. I probably won't make them again. Also, this took much longer than 15 minutes to bake, around 22-25 minutes, and the yield was 18 instead of 12.

Southern Chess Squares
These are out of this world good!! I've made them for several church functions, and there's never any left. They always get great reviews!

Best Ever Split Pea
I followed this recipe exactly, except for pureeing at the end. It was delicious! I will definitely be making this again!
