Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Wow, wow, wow! This is my first attempt at making any type of pasta sauce and I will not buy jarred any more! The only addition I made was the tablespoon of brown sugar as others suggested. I used a pino grigio wine. I doubled so I could freeze it for another time and I'm glad I did! This will be my "go to" sauce recipe from now on. Thanks!

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
This soup is amazing! I used ground chicken instead of beef. Also topped with locatelli cheese and put some in the meat. Also, added a can of beef broth per another reviewer. My market didn't have escarole, so I just used spinach and it was great. Perfect with those small changes!

Maryland Crab Cakes II

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
This crab cake was insanely delish!! The only differences I made were cooking them in a cast iron pan on the grill. I put a couple small pats of butter on the pan and a couple small pats on top of each cake. I also sprinkled Old Bay seasoning in the mixture as well as sprinkling it on top while it cooked (used this instead of hot sauce). This is the first time I made crab cakes too...I always thought it was too difficult. These are easy and good. This will be my "go to" crab cake recipe from now on. EDIT: I've made this many times now and followed someones tip to use a 1/3 measuring cup to mold the cakes and it is truly genius. They are the perfect size! Also, I get the 16 oz container of Phillips crab meat from Costco. It is the cheapest and best crab meat you can buy! Also, I mix all ingredients and gently fold the crab meat in last and I never shred it - I like big chunks of crab, not shredded crab.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
Wow! This was SO good that my 11 year old son asked me to make it every night. I used 2 chicken breasts, cut them into cubes, put in a skillet, mixed all of the remaining ingredients in a bowl and poured over. Cooked for about 30 minutes on med-high heat and it was done. So easy! I also made rice and used the extra sauce to pour over the rice. This one is a keeper!

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
I really liked this recipe! It was almost like a salsa - in fact, we ate it with tortilla chips the next day and it was really yummy! Next time, I will put a little less onion as I bought a huge onion and it was a bit much. I may also add some tomato next time too. Will definitely make again!

Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
This was absolutely delicious and great to take to a party! I followed the recipe exactly. Next time I will use low sodium soy sauce though because I was SO thirsty after I ate this. I'm sure it was the sodium in the soy sauce. Other than that, no changes. This one is a keeper!

Pork Chops with Apple Curry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
This was absolutely delicious!! I used the crock pot on low for 6-7 hours. I browned the onion and apple first and then added to the crock pot. Edit: I've made this many times and I've found I like it best when I also make the pork chops on top of the stove, adding the apple mixture to it after I've cooked that separately. I love the curry taste too, so I always add more. My family raves over this! Thanks for the recipe!

Garlic Cajun Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
These ribs were amazing! The only change I made was omitting the salt. The cajun seasoning had salt in it already. Will definitely make again!

Cheesecake Topped Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2005
These were so delicious! I can't believe I made them! I followed others advice and lined the brownie pan with aluminum foil sprayed with Pam. This worked out wonderfully and nothing stuck. I made them in the evening and refrigerated them overnight and cut them the next morning with a pizza cutter (as another suggested). What a great idea! They were just perfect. I also omitted the chocolate icing as I don't think they really needed it. They were a great hit at a party I brought them to. Will definitely make again!

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2005
This was so delicious and so easy. I used 3 chicken breasts, but didn't reduce anything else, so I had lots of yummy sauce. I used 2 whole pints of mushrooms (we just love mushrooms) and added some garlic to the sauce. I also added lemon pepper and a bit of onion to the chicken, which I cooked in a skillet. Had just the right amount of lemon flavor. Will definitely make again!

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2005
This was just delicious! I used a 4 pound bird and cooked it for about an hour and a half. I think it was done in about an hour and fifteen minutes though. Still - very good - will definitely make again!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2004
These were extremely easy to make and honestly melt in your mouth. They are extremely delicate though and were falling apart as I was taking them off of the cookie sheet, so be careful. Most of them were breaking apart when picked up. They were SO good though! Topped with Christmas sprinkles for a nice touch.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2004
These were the best ribs I have ever had! The only alterations I made were adding 1 cup of ketchup instead of 2, adding 1 cup of bbq sauce and omitting chili sauce. The whole family devoured them. It's a keeper!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2004
This was delicious!! Everyone raved about it. I added a can of condensed beef broth, mushrooms, baby carrots, red potatoes cut up and left out the water. The gravy needed some thickening at the end. What a great and easy meal!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2004
I would give this 10 stars if I could. This was absolutely deeeeelish!!! Probably my new favorite recipe off of allrecipes. I used 6 Granny Smith apples and used only a teensy bit of water. Served straight out of the oven over french vanilla ice cream is the way to go.

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2004
I love this meatloaf. I added some onion to the meat to liven it up a bit. My boyfriend didn't like the topping, so that is why I didn't give it 5 stars.

Baked Ziti I

This was delicious! Next time I'll need a larger pan though. My 9 x 13 barely held everything. Very good with garlic bread and a garden salad.
