Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
Was good although I had to follow other advises like additional sugar, cinnamon & less flour. Was moist, light & fluffy. Delicious even though I used frozen strawberries. Will make again.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
OMG I just made a batch of these & tasted it while still warm. They are toes curling good! I couldn't stop eating it. My 1st attempt at baking cookies & I'm so glad I tried this. A definite keeper. I didn't have walnuts but these are so good even without them.

Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
It was excellent. The whole family loved it. I'll definitely make it again. I followed it exactly, and felt I could do with more onions and garlic. I used the red onions and it was very sweet. One thing I've got to share - never omit Step 1. I read how some reviewers skip step 1 but this is what I've been told. Slow cooker takes a long time to heat up and cook the meat. Therefore, your raw meat would be sitting at room temperature for too long. In hot climate countries, you could easily get food poisoning. Therefore the advice to boil and cook the meat first is a good suggestion.

This is so good! I followed the recipe EXACTLY except that I replaced the vanilla extract with rum instead. So so smooth and delicious! Very easy to make too. Love it!

Chicken Afritada

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
This recipe is excellent. I would recommend you to follow the recipe exactly. DO NOT omit the ginger as it is what gives this recipe the zing. The whole family loved it. Hubby says this is the best dish I've ever made.

Quick Creamy Spinach and Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
It was so simple to make and absolutely delicious. But I stir fried some garlic and minced meat in olive oil so that the sauce is more exciting. Added also, a dash of tabasco sauce as I couldn't find any chili flakes. Works wonders!

Mango Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2004
I found this recipe useful although I made several changes to it that the rest of you may like to try. Someone gave me a bottle of ready-made spicy mango sauce. And following the steps to brown the chicken etc, I did just that. Later, scoop the chicken up and do the sauce. I added the orange juice 3/4 cups only instead of 3 cups. Then added the spicy mango sauce. Add more salt to it so that the OJ won't be too overpowering or too sour/sweet. Next, put the chicken back in and stir in sliced carrots and red capsicum. It looks good and enhances the taste. Oh and before that, make sure the chicken is marinated with Worchestershire sauce, salt, pepper and dark soy sauce. Try again! :)

Easy Chinese Corn Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2003
Great soup that was done in a jiffy!!! I had that can of creamed corn sitting in the cupboard for the longest time and am glad to be able to use it finally. In order to tone down on the sweetness, I added a pinch of salt. A winner that's easy to make!!

Cantonese Dinner

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2003
I made this dish for dinner a moment ago. My husband loved it. I omit the vinegar, added a dash of powdered black pepper and used golden mushroom instead. Also, instead of tomato sauce, I put a can of stewed chopped tomatoes. It was much better because it gives a chunkier taste. Excellent!
