made this but with eggnog instead of milk and pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon- also sprinkled spices over bread too before pouring mixture on. It was UNBELIEVABLY good! made it with the nursing home residents i work with and they went nuts over it. I also added 50% more on all ingredients and made it in a 9x12 pan. Didn't use the raisins, but i'm thinking of making it with dried cranberries sometime

Hermit Bar Cookies

These were EXACTLY what I was looking for when I went searching for a hermit cookie recipe. I added dried cranberries and walnuts and replaced the cinnamon and cloves with pumpkin pie spice, and cooked them in a jelly roll pan as a bar cookie. Couldn't keep my hands off them. Word to the wise if you read the other reviews. I tried them with extra flour as one person suggested and they came out too dry. I thought they were perfect just as the recipe stated.

Best Brownies

very good, but thought the frosting called for more conf sugar than necessary. I added peppermint extract in place of the vanilla for a mint choc brownie and it was fabulous!
