Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

This is such a quick and easy recipe! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. I was a little worried about the topping because the flour didn't mix in very well with my mixer, but it still tasted wonderful!

Supreme Strawberry Topping

This was absolutely delicious. I've never made a sauce before, so I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. I did follow others hints to keep some of the strawberries out and add them after cooking the sauce. It was perfect that way.

Rainbow Cupcakes

My cupcakes turned out dry and crumbly. I even substituted applesauce for vegetable oil like others suggested. Also, my colors didn't turn out like in the picture. When I peeled back the wrapper, you couldn't see the different colors, but you could when you bit into it. I hope with the buttercream icing (Allrecipes)by Sharon Gerstman my guests like it for today's celebration.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

I was disappointed that the bread didn't rise at all. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. This recipe is nothing out of the ordinary. It tastes fine. I pureed the bananas instead of leaving them in slices.

Fluffy Pancakes

For years I've been trying to find a great fluffy pancake recipe. Most of the recipe's I've found do not fluff up and are heavy. This one is PERFECT! I love it!

Sugar Cookies with Buttercream Frosting

These cookies rose too much. I also didn't try the frosting. They tasted ok. I guess my only complaint was they didn't hold their shape as well as other recipes I've tried because they rose and expanded while baking.

Pumpkin Roll-Out Cookies

My dough was really sticky even after 2 hours of chilling in the fridge, so I had to add a lot more flour. In trying to avoid the "pie crust" taste I even added some powdered sugar. It's possible my problem was my pumpkin was too watery. The dough consistency seemed to be more like bread dough than cookie dough (even when it was sticky). It had a lot of rebound when rolling out, and I had to keep rolling it in order to get it to stay . The cookies rose well (like sugar cookies) and were soft (like sugar cookies), but I didn't really like the taste or texture. I'm sure they'll be fine once I get some frosting on them. My 4 year old liked them without the frosting, but he's a kid.

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

After trying this myself and getting something that tasted great, but rose too much like cake I followed the advice of others and edited the ingredients as follows: I added 4 cups of pumpkin puree, only used 3 eggs, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp baking powder, 2/3 c white sugar, 2/3 c brown sugar. I also added 1 tsp allspice, 1 tsp cloves, and 1 tsp nutmeg in addition to the cinnamon. I baked in a 10x16 cake pan that was greased and powdered to prevent sticking. I had to bake it for 45-50 minutes. In the middle of baking it seemed to rise a bit, but ended up flattening back down by the time it was cooked through.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

I'm not a fan of pumpkin, but I had a lot of pumpkin puree. These are great, easy to make and they taste good. I love soft cookies, not the hard ones and these were perfect.
