Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
Great, light sauce with a lot of flavor. I left out the sugar and used a couple pinches of dried basil. Very good, my 4 year old LOVED it!

Potato Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
Very good, hearty stew. I did have to add about 3x the amount of flour to get it to thicken up. Also, instead of dirtying multiple pans to cook the chicken & onions, I just put oil in the pot along with a pressed clove of garlic to cook the chicken, then added onions to sauté. From there I added the rest as instructed, (except I used raw potato) and simmered everything for 1 1/2 hours and served over rice. A very quick and easy meal to prepare.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
Simple and delicious! I doubled the amount of jalepenos, and they seemed to get hotter the longer they were in the dip. I also baked it for 20 minutes on 400. It was a hit at the holiday party.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
I've made this stuffing for 6 years straight and it's a hit every time. I don't always stuff the bird, so I took the suggestion of someone here and put the stuffing in a crockpot, set on low for 3 hours and it turns out awesome & moist. If you prefer it drier, you could remove it from the CP and bake for 20-30min. One adjustment I do make is to use 2-4 less ounces of meat than called for, I think it balances the flavor and texture out better.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This turned out surprisingly delicious. After reading the mixed reviews I was concerned it would be too dry, so I watched it like a hawk and basted it a few times. Probably would have cooked faster if I hadn't opened the lid so much. I made this one to ensure we didn't run out of turkey (we also roasted & fried one.) I put some pats of butter under the skin, rubbed the turkey with butter; added 2 sliced garlic cloves slit into the breast, 1/2 cup vegetable stock and threw in some extra chopped onions to the bottom. My husband raved about it.

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
Great flavor. This was a lifesaver as all my turkey drippings dried up. I had to use 3 cans of chicken broth (2 regular, 1 low sodium), and I left out the added salt. I put the milk & flour in a mason jar and shook it until the flour dissoved then added to the pan--this guaranteed no lumps. Will use this again next holiday.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
Wow, this was fabulous. As a previous poster suggested, I sauted garlic & onions in some oil. Added the seasoned chops & browned. Then transferred to a baking pan with 1 can cream mushroom soup & 1/2 can milk. As that baked, I boiled wide noodles then mixed with veggies. Once the chops were done, I mixed the noodles & veggies in with the mushroom gravy, like a stroganoff. Very yummy!

Easy Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
This was delicious, my husband went back for seconds. I left out the ham and added a minced clove of garlic, some sliced mushrooms, and a handful of diced onions in addition to the broccoli. I also used skim milk, which didn't affect the thickness, and baked it in a lasagna pan.

Great, easy recipe! I add 1/2-3/4 cup of whole wheat macaroni noodles to make it more like a stew.
