I love trying new things so I am constantly experimenting with new ingredients and recipes looking for the next big YUM!
My favorite family cooking traditions
There are certain things that just say home to me that are lost on others like my grandmother's Lane Cake & Apricot Nectar Cake or my mom's Zuccini Cassarole and Chicken Picnic Pockets. Even something as simple as a big mess of greens warms my heart.
My cooking triumphs
I once prepared several trays of finger food for my husband to take to an office party and everyone was asking where he had purchased it so they could go there next time because they just loved it. My other favorite is when I got into sugar sculpting. I made a standing crescent moon cake stand in my tiny apartment kitchen for my mother-in-law's birthday a couple of years ago. Anytime I can successfully spoof something I had out somewhere is fun. But really anytime I cook for my family and they rave about it, that's the best.

Buttermilk Pancakes II
Pancake PERFECTION!!! Add farm fresh blueberries and a dash of cinnamon for and extra delicious treat.

Fluffy Pancakes
This is the PERFECT pancake base recipe; my sweet husband gave it a 15 out of 10!! I tweaked it just a bit: 1) substitute white balsamic vinegar for the white (sounds weird, I know, but it adds a nice fruitiness) 2) add ~1.5 tsp mexican vanilla 3) add ~0.5 tsp ground cinnamon 4) add ~2.0 tbsp veggie oil 5) add an extra pinch of salt

Creamy Hollandaise Sauce
I haven't had good luck with pre-melted butter recipes in the past. So, I added all ingredients for step one into a small sauce pot over low heat and then added cubed cold butter a couple of cubes at the time and whisked continuously until it was all melted and the sauce tightened up. Then added a dash of cayenne pepper for a kick. Yum!
