French Toast II

This was a huge hit at our weekly breakfast gathering at my our house. I switched gears one week and made this instead of biscuits or muffins. Now I have to make them every weekend b/c everyone loves them. One 3 y/o kid asked as he ate the last bite, "What's this stuff in my mouth?" I told him and he said can I have more French Toast please?? I actually had to make more.

Tasty Collard Greens

WOW!! I am a Black woman in my 40's and I have NEVER liked greens in my life UNTIL THIS RECIPE!!! I served canned greens a couple weeks prior & they were NOT a huge hit. My family normally would have to eat the homemade ones at family gatherings but I decided to give it a try to surprise my family. I could not stop eating them. They are the BEST!! I have shared them with family & friends who ate greens for years and said that MY GREENS were the best that they ever had. Thanks for not only giving out a good recipe but causing me to eat something I despised for soooo long. I made them just the way the recipe states, no changes. I didn't need the red pepper flakes and they were simply delicious. THANK YOU ANADRI!!!

Cream Cheese Frosting

Personally, I am not a fan of cream cheese but I made a cake from someone who requested cream cheese frosting. The rave reviews went on for days. Everyone who tasted the cake loved it and thought the icing was WONDERFUL!!! Great receipe for cream cheese lovers! Oh, and I didn't make any changes to the recipe.

Lemon-Caper Chicken

Even though the chicken turned out well the sauce was not very good. I re-read the reviews and I guess the fresh lemon juice makes a difference. I will give it another try.

Chris' Bay Area Burger

WOW!!! I made this earlier this week and we loved it!! I only used 1 tsp. salt and 1 Tbsp. oil which was plenty. Since I didn't feel like going outside (loooong day), I pan fried them as & served the w/ brown rice and green beans. The patties were so good that I saved them to eat last. We are putting them on the grill tonight & will serve them on buns. I can hardly wait. DEEE-LICOUS!!!! Thanks Chris.

Snow Flakes

I was not familar w/ spritz cookies but they taste alot like shortbread cookies. The dough was very easy to work with and my family really enjoyed them. I now have to make another batch b/c they ate so many of the ones I had planned to give away. :o)

Pigs in a Blanket

My son and I made these w/ cocktail franks, some with/without cheese and crescent rolls. It was his introduction to Pigs in a Blanket and he loved them. You must be careful b/c you can eat a ton of them in very little time. :o)

Country Quiche

Great recipe. I had never made quiche b/f b/c I thought it would b 2 complicated but it wasn't. I added a 1/2 c. of spinach and it was absolutely delicious. I can't wait 2 try different ingredients each time I make it.

Crayfish or Shrimp Pasta

I made this for the first time last night and it was very good! I thought it would need extra spices to make it really tasty but the cajun seasoning was all it needed. It wasn't too hot but just right. Thanks. I am adding this to my dinner rotation.

Fried Butterflied Shrimp

In all the years I have been married, I had never fried shrimp at home. I am not a big shrimp eater but my husband is. I used this recipe including the comments (1/2 the water) and it was great. I used seasoned breadcrumbs on half of the shrimp then used the cajun fish fry on the remainder. WOW!!! My husband is already asking when am I going to make it again. He said that it is better than any fried shrimp he's ordered at the restaurants. Thanks!!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

DELICIOUS!!! I made one chicken for dinner yesterday. I like the ease of the recipe. I put it in the oven as we left to attend a party. When we returned home and took our showers, dinner was ready! The seasonings are perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.

Squash Stuffed Chicken Breasts

This was delicious and my family loved it! My husband doesn't like to try too many new foods but he told me to add it to my recipe box. It was a bit time consuming trying to chop all the vegetables but well worth the effort. I will make it again but only on the weekend when I have more time.

Easy Apple Crisp

DEEEE-LICIOUS!!! I followed other reviewers suggestions. I reduced the water to 1/2 cup and reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 cup. I also used yellow cake mix (Jiffy Cake Mix - 50 cents) and sprinkled pecans on the top. I repeat - DEEEE-LICOUS!! I have wanted a good recipe for apples that wasn't an apple pie and this is it!

Chicken Breasts With Herb Basting Sauce

GREAT DISH!!! I made this last night and it was a big hit. I didn't have rosemary so I substituted basil. I also made a double dose of the marinade and cut us potatoes as another reviewer suggested and it was better than I imagined. Thank you Christine. This one will be added to my repretoire.

Cream of Chicken Breasts

This is one of our family's new favorite meals. I use a can of the cream of chicken & mushroom soup. I also spray a frying pan w/ Pam, season the chicken and quickly cook the chicken about 2-3 minutes on each side to help cut down on the oven time. (only needs about 30 minutes in the oven) Oh my! It tastes great. Thanks for this recipe. Even though I didn't follow exactly as you said, it's a nice place to start.

Baked Salmon II

DELICIOUS!!! I prepared the marinade and placed the fish in it before leaving for work yesterday. I really don't have that extra hour after work. When I arrived home, I placed it in the oven and OH MY!!! My husband, 2 year old and I absolutely loved it. I served it with my own confetti rice and steamed broccoli. It was better than most salmon in top restaurants. I changed the receipe a little because I think that 6 tbsps of oil is a bit much. I only used 4 in the marinade and added 2 tbsps on butter when I placed it in the oven. It was so good that we talked about it for hours AFTER the meal. Thank you Norma. This recipe will be used often in our home.

Simply Parmesan Chicken

I really enjoyed this recipe. I took another reviewer's advice and topped the chicken w/ spaghetti sauce and I added a little more parmesan cheese on the top for presentation purposes. I served it over a spaghetti w/ a tossed salad and it really like it.

Tim's Sausage Stew

GREAT RECIPE!! My family loved it. My husband decided to make a pot of rice in order to fully enjoy the sauce that it makes. I never follow the recipe to the letter. I always feel the need to make it mine so I added a few spices that were not listed but flavors I know my family likes and it worked. We were practically fighting over the leftovers. Thanks. This is definitely a keeper.
