Best Ever Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
In making this fudge,it was fine tasting, but to gooey. I had to work with it a bit and add 21/2 cups of powdered sugar after I brought it up to a soft ball stage on the stove. After letting it cool for another 24 hours, it was fine and had the texture that fudge should have. I believe the original recipe had a bit to much butter in it, and a bit to much granular sugar.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2006
This was the greatest recipe ever! I'm feel bad due to the fact that Great Great Gramma Hawley had made the greatest ever, but now...You take the prize J.P. Great Job!! I have been using your recipe for over a year now, and because of the raves of these biscuits, I've decided it's time to let you earn your rewards of great praise. I'm a home cook making everything from scratch, but this recipe, I will never give out to family. Have more great recipes? just send them my way. I'm sure I will appreciate all of them as will my family. Thanks, lisa

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
this is wonderful! I added some jalepeno peppers, black beans, and instead of using regular rice..I used jasmine. This turned out really great and it is very versitile as I also used it for a filler for burritos. My family says: keep the recipes coming. Thanks

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
This was a wonderful recipe! I did however add premade meatballs in place of the beef, and added black olives and fire roasted tomatoes, along with small portabello mushrooms for the sliced reg. mushrooms. Thank you so much for pleasing my family.

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I've been making flap jacks for years and this recipe is the best I've found on here in a while. We have a blueberry orchard so we are always looking to add berries to whatever we make. Thanks Todd, and got any more recipes?

Minestrone Soup II

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I was skeptical... but took a chance and wow! it's a winner. My husband loved it as did I. The only change I made was to use stew meat instead of ground beef. Now it's a weekly dinner with a basket of multi-grain bread from the bakery, and a glass of red wine. Thanks so much.

Nachos Grande

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
OMG! This was the best version of nachos that I have ever made. The best part is that it was a real winner with my hubby. He's not much of a nacho or taco eater, but I had to make a bit more after supper as he could not eat very much but wanted more for later as a snack at work in his office. Thanks so much for recipe.

Mexican Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
I was not sure I wanted to try this but thought 'what to heck, lets go with it'. I watched my hubby as the fork went to his mouth with the first bite of the zucchini and I was surprized. I was so sure that he would not like it, but his words were "this is really good, honey. Add this one to your list as a keeper". What a relief, whew! It's really hard trying to find recipes that charm my hubby. I'm personally not a pepper lover, but the hubby is and that is why I decided to use this recipe. I did however follow other reviewers on slicing the squash rather than shredding it and salted it to sweat it out a little and it turned out fine. I gave it a 4 as it was my hubbies choice and he loved it.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
So totally impressed! not greasy, fatty tasting, they were perfect! I use 'were' in past tense as they are now gone, within minutes by me and my family. Wow, in a time when you now have to conserve monetary funds, this is a great saver. And if you want to make a full bag without all the air...you can and not be charged the extra price for a half a bag of chips. Love it Thanks so much, and man was my hubby happy. He's always impressed when I find new ways of saving money.

Shredded Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
this was a pretty good recipe actually if you are a bit on the mild side of spices So I added a store bought package of taco seasoning and it turned out to be just the right amount of spice for us. In stead of cooking it all day long on the stove or in the slow cooker, I threw the meat and spices in the pressure cooker and it turned out extremely tender and delicious. I also made our own enchilada sauce and topped it with the cheese. I really thought these were very good. this is definitely a keeper. thanks.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
I am french-canadian and we have always made our cornbread this way and its delicious. I have never used another recipe, nor do I think has anyone else in our family. I believe our family recipe came from my great, great grand father on my fathers side.

Restaurant Style Chicken Nachos

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
This was a really great recipe. The whole family loved it and I will definitely make it again. I did, however, use fajita seasoning rather than to use the taco seasoning like other reviewers had recommended. Had the recipe called for some kind of seasoning to spice up the chicken, I probably would have given it a 5 star rating.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I too grew up having this dressing for our holiday dinners. It went from great grandma, to gradma, to mom and on down the line. Never once changing the recipe. Nothing like good old nostalgic foods to bring back the memories of yesteryear. The taste, look, and family comments are why I gave this recipe a 10. I have never stopped using this recipe and gather that you won't either. ?

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
These were great from the get-go. I used frozen meatballs instead since I was so busy making everything else for Thanksgiving. I love recipes that call for only a few ingredients, because then you can get the little ones in the family to dump everything together, and they like eating it more because they made it, and it makes it more fun for them and easy for you.

No Salt Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
I just have to tell you that this is the best recipe that I have found that out shines all the rest. How you have so few ratings is beyond me. This is also very versatile and you can use it to marinate meats with a simple change with a few different ingredients, or you can sprinkle it on fruits for a really unique flavor. Great recipe!!! thank you so much.
