Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
This was an awesome and definitely a keeper. I did not change anything as I love to try recipes just like they are so that the creator gets an honest opinion and rating. I do not plan to change anything in the future, I love this recipe just he way it is. Thank you for sharing Eskarina :)

Apple Cider Sauce and Pork Loin Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
Made this recipe without changing a thing, followed it to a 'T'. It was great except that my chops turned out very dry. I noticed a couple others had the same problem. I don't know if it was the cut I bought (center cut pork loin), or maybe It's because I used an electric oven which heats at a higher level than a gas stove, but next time I will set it at 350 and cover it with foil and bake for only 20 minutes. I think it is always better to find out what I did wrong before blaming the creator of the recipe. This really was a very good recipe, thanks for sharing it with us. I will definitely be making this again.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
Wow! is all I can say for this recipe. I read about 25-30 reviews before I try any recipe, but on this one, in the first 17 they were all raving about this fabulous recipe. I had to try it for sure, and glad I did. You really outdid yourself Phoebe, it's excellent and if I could give you 8 stars I would, you certainly deserve it! Thank you for sharing.

Dad's Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
I absolutely loved this recipe as did my husband. I gave it 5 stars because had I made the recipe as stated, it probably would have tasted better than how I had to make it. I had to make changes due to our health and dietary needs. For more lean and less fat I used venison sausage and ground sirloin. I used 1 cup of unsalted beef broth(we are on a restricted low sodium diet), 2 cups of 2% milk, and 2 cups of water. To get a little more depth and taste for us, I used 1 tsp. of low sodium bullion, minced garlic, parsley and added extra onion. I really loved your recipe Rhonda35 and sorry I had to make dietary changes, but I'm sure it is really great and wish I could have made it as stated in your recipe above, and I really think you deserve 5 stars. Thank you so much for sharing

Pumpkin Pie Spice II

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
I prefer to make my own spices with what I have on hand in the cupboard, rather than to go out and buy an extra spice, these are the days when you save where you can. I have used this time and again, and make extra to give to my girls and grand kids when they are in the baking mood. Thank you for your recipe, it is much appreciated and very useful.

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
I give this recipe 5 stars for two things...nostalgia and taste. This recipe took me back to when I was a child in the 60's and we would go to Gramma's for Sunday dinner. This is the same exact recipe that she used and got from her mother. This recipe was used in our family since before the 30's I believe. I never knew the exact ingredients, but I remember sitting on a stool next to gramma as she put everything in the bowl (gramma never measured anything out, she did it by pinches of this and handfuls of that) and mixed it together and then rolled it out and she'd give me a small piece to roll out with my own little rolling pin. Thanks for bringing the memories back and providing the recipe.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
I had to rate this 5 stars because it was absolutely great!!! I used all fresh veggies from the garden except the kidney beans. I followed Jamie's recipe exactly to the tea without any modifications and it turned out perfect. Thanks Jamie for a great recipe.

These are the yummiest little ham roll ups I have ever eaten. Everyone in the family makes these for all or our holiday and family gatherings. We seem to never be able to make enough of these!!! Great as are, no changes needed to this recipe in our family

No Salt Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
I just have to tell you that this is the best recipe that I have found that out shines all the rest. How you have so few ratings is beyond me. This is also very versatile and you can use it to marinate meats with a simple change with a few different ingredients, or you can sprinkle it on fruits for a really unique flavor. Great recipe!!! thank you so much.

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
These were great from the get-go. I used frozen meatballs instead since I was so busy making everything else for Thanksgiving. I love recipes that call for only a few ingredients, because then you can get the little ones in the family to dump everything together, and they like eating it more because they made it, and it makes it more fun for them and easy for you.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I too grew up having this dressing for our holiday dinners. It went from great grandma, to gradma, to mom and on down the line. Never once changing the recipe. Nothing like good old nostalgic foods to bring back the memories of yesteryear. The taste, look, and family comments are why I gave this recipe a 10. I have never stopped using this recipe and gather that you won't either. ?

Restaurant Style Chicken Nachos

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
This was a really great recipe. The whole family loved it and I will definitely make it again. I did, however, use fajita seasoning rather than to use the taco seasoning like other reviewers had recommended. Had the recipe called for some kind of seasoning to spice up the chicken, I probably would have given it a 5 star rating.

Homesteader Cornbread

I am french-canadian and we have always made our cornbread this way and its delicious. I have never used another recipe, nor do I think has anyone else in our family. I believe our family recipe came from my great, great grand father on my fathers side.

Shredded Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
this was a pretty good recipe actually if you are a bit on the mild side of spices So I added a store bought package of taco seasoning and it turned out to be just the right amount of spice for us. In stead of cooking it all day long on the stove or in the slow cooker, I threw the meat and spices in the pressure cooker and it turned out extremely tender and delicious. I also made our own enchilada sauce and topped it with the cheese. I really thought these were very good. this is definitely a keeper. thanks.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
So totally impressed! not greasy, fatty tasting, they were perfect! I use 'were' in past tense as they are now gone, within minutes by me and my family. Wow, in a time when you now have to conserve monetary funds, this is a great saver. And if you want to make a full bag without all the air...you can and not be charged the extra price for a half a bag of chips. Love it Thanks so much, and man was my hubby happy. He's always impressed when I find new ways of saving money.
