Well, my friends, I have made it through the year of "Firsts". As of July 13th, one full year has passed since my Love passed away. I was able to survive my "First" night sleeping without him, my "First" morning alone, our "First" wedding anniversary apart, our "First" Thanksgiving and… MORE

About this Cook
I'm a fairly resent widow, still trying to figure out how to enjoy my life. Cooking was always a passion of mine but seems to have fallen by the wayside. My passion (or lot) has turned to thinking and thinking and thinking.
My favorite things to cook
Simple, quick meals...
My cooking tragedies
First loaf of bread when I was newly married...it's probably still in one piece, in some landfill, somewhere...

Quick Alfredo Sauce
DELISH!!! I used ALL fresh garlic (4 cloves), sautéed in the butter first. Nice, creamy and cheesy! I do question the serving size, though. This recipe made enough for 4 of us with no leftovers. Thank you, diastase, for a delightfully quick and tasty recipe!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
I am quite embarassed to say that 4 of us ate the entire cheesecake within 2 hours...maybe there is such a thing as "Too Good"!! :o)

Triple the Ginger Cookies
For a family of ginger lovers, these are the cookies of the gods!!! I did not chill them before baking, too impatient, and they turned out perfect, just like the picture. Used a microplane to grate the fresh ginger, didn't even peel it, quick and easy. Needless to say, these will be made again and again. THANK YOU!!!
