Kung Wow Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
Loved this, and I did not even have the wine to use; so I left it out and it still tasted fantastic!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
The sauce was good. The batter did not stay crispy at all...not sure why. I would use the full amount of cayenne. I used half like some of the reviewers said, and it was not spicy enough.

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
I think this is the first time I have given anything one star off allrecipes. It tasted vinegary and salty.... Will say the chicken legs marinated it in were a bit better, but still not that good.

Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
I'm confused. Usually I'm pretty good at baking...had no trouble baking 4 beautiful pies for thanksgiving this last weekend...but these cookies turned out really really wrong. They ended up cakelike consistancy. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 in case it was my fault somehow?

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
I made this with chicken pot pie as a trial before baking pies for thanksgiving since it is crust I am most nervous about making...not nervous any longer! It was very very flaky. I will be adding 1 tblspoon sugar like someone suggestion for my dessert pies though...think it needs to tie in with the sweet flavor.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
My husband said if mine would have looked better, he would have given it a perfect 10! I used the flaky pie crust recipe from this site, and was really impressed with the result. Did alter the veggies however since in scotland they typically put broccoli in their chicken pies, that is what we did. Used broccoli, potatoes, carrots, little bit of corn and onion. Delicious!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
Well, unfortunately I can't give this recipe 5 stars like many others. The turkey was fine and not as dry as some, but I can't say it was the best turkey I've ever had. It didn't fall of the bone (as some had said) and I didn't really taste the seasonings. Might try olive oil and fresh herbs recipe next year!!

Pineapple Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2004
Yum, can't go wrong with this recipe--so simple and yet so good. I decided to thread some pineapples and red onion on the skewers in between the chicken..great result. Highly recommended!!

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2004
These did rise nicely but still came out dense and biscuit-like. I felt guilty giving my husband one in his lunch the next day! Perhaps they are just not as "easy" as the recipe says.

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2004
Hmmm..something must have gone terribly wrong with this recipe. My burger buns looked and tasted like little rocks of yeast. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because I'm allowing for the possibility I did something wrong...very wrong by the taste of it. Would definitely advise to follow others suggestions as I didn't. Thanks.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2004
Hmmm..I'm quite surprised by all the enthusiastic comments I must say. First of all, I think I've learnt never to add any time of liquid (i.e oil) to prime rib now. You sacrifice the beautiful au jus. It was a big disappointment. I think the recipe would be fine if you rubbed the other ingredients over the prime rib but left out the oil. Sorry.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
When I started making this my husband wasn't so sure about the processed cheese food in this soup but after he tasted it he completely changed his mind. I did change two factors when making the soup 1) I used fresh broccoli and 2) I blended the soup so that there weren't any chunks. In my husbands words "I wouldn't be ashamed to invite someone over for a bowl of this!" :)

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
I really enjoyed this recipe. In the past I have always browned my meatballs and didn't realize they could just be thrown in with the sauce. They tasted just as good, and it was much easier. I also like the sauce recipe, although I wasn't able to let it simmer for the full amount of time. I thought it would be a disaster, but it still turned out great. :)

Veggie Lo Mein

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
I was particularly interested in trying the recipe for the lo mein sauce as I was tired of buying the packaged kinds. There was virtually no difference between the sauce in this and the packaged version--quite good although not out of this world yummy. I think I will go back to buying the packaged though as it works out cheaper here in the UK.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2004
This is the first real recipe I tried from the site and boy was it a good one. Although it is quite a bit of work, it is worth all the hassle. My husband gets so excited when I make it!
