My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
A nice, comforting easy weeknight meal. Nothing special but will fill your stomach for sure. I've made this three times already and served it with either mashed potatoes and buttered egg noodles. Both are very good. The last time I added sliced onions and mushrooms for a more filling meal.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
These were simple and delicious. They were a tad bit too sweet, but still 5 star worthy because that was likely due to adding frosting. Next time I will keep the frosting and only use 1/2C sugar in the filling. For the frosting, I used: 1/4 C softened cream cheese, 3T milk, 2t lemon juice and 1C sifted powdered sugar. I then poured over the hot rolls and let cool before eating.

Blueberry Loaf Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
This cake was both easy and delicious which are priorities in my kitchen. I added a pinch of nutmeg to the batter and used half/half and cane sugar instead of the milk and white sugar...that was all I had on had. We had this with coffee for breakfast this morning

I added sliced mushrooms and a large vidalia onion. It tasted great over egg noodles that I tossed with olive oil and chopped parsley.

Florida Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
I thought these were amazing. My very ripe organic strawberries produced a lot of juice. I did add a single banana that needed to be used very badly. The only change was to use cane sugar instead of white sugar. Very moist, simple and delicious.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I used turkey bacon and parboiled potatoes. The basil adds a really nice flavor to this soup. Topped with sharp cheddar, green onions, and a dollop of sour cream. Thanks for sharing this easy and tasty soup recipe.

Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Who knew you needed a recipe to boil eggs. This is one of those things that we should all know how to do, but how many of us still have green yolks? Foolproof directions for perfectly boiled eggs. Thank you!

Creamy Pesto Pasta Salad with Chicken, Asparagus and Cherry Tomatoes

oh, WOW! This was just so good. I used the garlic basil pesto recipe from this site, added diced fresh mozzarella, and some extra pesto. I will definitely be making this again.

Simple Garlic and Basil Pesto

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Great pesto! I used it in "Creamy Pesto Pasta Salad with Chicken, Asparagus and Cherry Tomatoes" by Pam Anderson from this site. I've aldo spread it on crusty french bread and in a pesto cream sauce for whole wheat pasta. I did use all pinenuts, but that was my only change. EDIT: This is now my go-to pesto sauce. My mom sent me 3 lbs of Louisiana pecans so I always use that for the pesto. I like to slather this pesto on top of white fish before cooking in the oven. YUM!!!

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
I followed all of chibichef's suggestions for baking minus the crockpot liner. I think the addition of the sour cream was a must. I've never had a cheesecake quite like this before, but it was delicious.

Brussels Sprouts with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Love this recipe. I never quite liked brussel sprouts until trying them this way. I usually saute sliced cremini mushrooms with half of an onion(diced) in a mixture of olive oil and butter. Fresh or dried parsley depending on whats in my refrigerator. Good with or without the lemon juice.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
I cannot say enough about how good this soup is. It is my husband's all time favorite soup requesting it every week during Ramadhan the muslim month of fasting. I never put almonds or sherry, and it always turns out absolutely delicious. I also, cut up raw chicken breast and let it cook in the soup which cuts down on work. It freezes good as well. Thank you so much for sharing.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
WOW!!!! What else can I say about this cheesecake? It is fabulous. I've made it numerous times with each one getting better than the one before it. I even made this cheesecake for my in-laws last year in Algeria. Cream cheese is an expensive rarity there. I substituted creme fraiche for the sour cream as that was all that is available there. In the end, it cost near 40USD to make. Everyone loved it though. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't have any hazelnuts so I used walnuts instead. The gingersnaps really make this an interesting cheesecake. It's a wondeful fall treat.

Cream of Broccoli Soup V

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
Nice tasting, quick and easy soup. The only changes were to use a bag of frozen broccoli in place of the fresh, powdered chicken bouillon instead of cubes, and 2C half/half in place of the milk/cream mixture. I made these changes to accomodate the ingredients I had on hand. Thank you, my 6yr old son and husband loved it. UPDATE: I've made this soup many more times. I still use the bag of frozen broccoli, but I've found there is no need to transfer to a blender to puree. I take my potato masher and mash away. The soup has the perfect smooth/chunky consistency.
