Sour Cream Blueberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
very yummy! made almost exactly as written. only change was i used 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 all purpose, and didn't use nuts (allergy). Took a few extra mins to fully bake, but worth the wait!

Chunky Monkey Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2013
doubled the recipe. thought the batter was too thin at first, but it was fine. omitted the nuts as we have an allergy. used 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 all purpose. Served it with peanut butter...died and went to heaven...so so good!!!!

Bobra's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
i found this recipe on a search of recipes to use up an excess of plain yogurt in my fridge, and i have to say...this is delicious!!! i used all whole wheat flour, but made everything else as instructed. it is SO yummy!! it's moist and light. my 7year old and 4 year old said it was "so awesome mom!" and my 11 month old cried when the slice was gone. lol!! make this bread! it's awesome! **Aug 27** I just made this bread again today, with home made roasted pumpkin puree instead of the banana, and pumpkin spice mix instead of the cinnamon/nutmeg. it turned out just as wonderful!!! i will be using this as my base recipe for quick breads with fruit/vegetables...going to try zucchini and carrot next!!! thank you again for an amazing recipe!!

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
for what this is, it's awesome! i used a french vanilla cake mix and added 2 tbsp of home made vanilla extract, and a cup of mini semisweet chocolate chips! super good!! mine didn't flatten out like the ones pictured...stayed more like the shape of the ball i made it into, but baked all the way through in about 9-10 mins. just waited to see them slightly browning. thanks for a great easy last minute recipe!

Creamy Celery Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
this was ok. it used up my over abundance of celery, which is what i wanted to do, but i wouldn't run to this recipe again.

Thai Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
So amazingly delicious!! I only made a few alterations. I used 1/4 tsp cumin instead of coriander, because i didn't have any. i didn't use cilantro, because i don't care for the flavour. I marinated for around 2 hours, and sauteed the chicken instead of grilling on skewers. I also used some of the thick coconut cream from the top of the can, along with some sesame oil as a base in my fry pan before i sauteed the chicken. added such a nice flavour! definitely a keeper for thai night at our house!! thanks for a great recipe!

Blueberry Oat Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
made exactly as stated, and this was absolutely delightful. it wasn't even out of the over 15 minutes before we couldn't help but eat it right out of the pan. i like that it's nice and thin and crunchy. perfect sweetness. amazing when warmed and served with a bit of vanilla ice cream or whipping cream. would definitely make again.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
i made a few alterations and have used some suggestions after reading some of the other reviews, and have come out with a perfect loaf!! i proof 2.25tsp TRADITIONAL yeast in the loaf pan with the water and sugar. i use 2 cups all purpose white flour, 1/2 cup whole wheat, and 1/8 cup gluten. i use 2 tsp salt and it turns out great!! (sometimes i have to add a bit more water, but i do that by eye.) this loaf rises evenly, and i don't even get the hard bottom, soft, airy top...it's airy all the way through!! highly recommended

BaumKuchen

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
this is amazing. i'm not swiss, but found the recipe looking for swiss recipes for a themed new years dinner party. this looked too interesting to pass up. it's delicious!! very labour intensive, but came out worth it in the end. you can not do anything else while you make this. watch it in your oven as it browns in 1 minute!! spongey cake layered with chocolate...how can you go wrong? the only thing i noticed, was the amount of chocolate stated for the topping is WAY too much. could have used 1/2 to 3/4 and it would have been plenty. thanks for the great recipe!!

Pretzel Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
so yum! made it with egg nog cheesecake, and was a hit. would run the pretzels through the food processor for longer next time, so it's a fine fine powder instead of half fine, half crumb, as the pretzels seemed to go a bit soggy/stale with the cake on top, but the flavour is awesome. thanks!!

Cheese Fondue

delicious! never done fondue before, but the taste on this was amazing. the cheese takes a long time to incorporate with the wine, but i guess that's just the nature of the beast. would make again!

Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
giving this a 3 because my husband and daughter liked it, my son and i hated it. if you were to make oatmeal with too little water, so it's really glue-like and thick and dry...and then add dried fruit to it, that is what this tastes like. my husband has irish in his blood and likes a thick, pasty oatmeal...i on the other hand, prefer my oatmeal a bit on the wet side...it could use some extra sweetness...maybe more honey, or a honey glaze? don't know...but won't make this again...

Dill Pickles

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
turned out well, but very heavy on the garlic. May have been the garlic i used...fresh, giant heads of it, but still. next time i will go lighter on the garlic as it seems to get enhanced when it sits. otherwise, a good, easy recipe!

Gluten-Free Fudge Brownies

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
a-MAZING!! so good. use the bigger pan...you definitely need it, but these are probably better than any other brownie i've had...and I'm not the one who needs to be gluten free! i made these for my best friend who is, and the 4 of us who enjoyed them said they were by far the yummiest, gooeyest brownies ever. yum!
