Chocolate Chip Cookie Layer Cake

Reviewed: May 26, 2014
I wasn't sure what to expect texture wise for this cake. I couldn't tell if it would be more like a cookie or a cake. The answer is it is a little of both. It is like a huge layered soft amazing chocolate chip cookie. I made this for my daughter's 8th birthday and everybody raved about it and several people asked to take pieces home. The only change I made was to use different chocolate icing since I had some made already that needed used up. I will DEFINITELY be making this again!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
Absolute greatest pancakes I've ever made! Very fluffy and delicious. I made these with absolute best syrup from this site and I will use this combination FOREVER! My kids devoured these, including my 18 month old who is fully in throw everything on the floor and you can't make me eat phase. My kids loved them so much they requested I make them again for dinner, and again for breakfast tomorrow.

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
Oh my goodness... This syrup is amazing! I have tried a few recipes, but now my search is over. My seven year old, who initially groaned about homemade syrup, said she wants this from now on instead of store bought. Thanks for such a great recipe!!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
I have made this with both oreo and nutter butter cookies and it is fantastic! Like other users, I refrigerate the cookie mixture for an hour before coating in chocolate. I also do not put the cookie crumb topping. I found the easiest way to work with the dipping chocolate is to melt half of the chocolate in the microwave for about a minute and a half and to use a slotted spoon and regular spoon to coat. Using half of the chocolate at a time seems to work well. I did have a more crumbly truffle with the nutter butters, but I think I did not crush it enough as I used the plastic bag and rolling pin method. While it was not as creamy as my oreo, it still came out fantastic! A little time consuming to make, but totally worth it. The truffles are very rich, and I have been asked to make them for other parties, with someone even offering to pay me to make them for their kid's birthday party. Very good and easy recipe... Makes me look like I know what I'm doing :)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2012
My family and I absolutely LOVE this pie! Just getting around to reviewing it, but I have made it at least a dozen times now. This pie actually convinced my mother-in-law that I can bake :) The only changes I make are to add 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, and a tsp vanilla to the flour/sugar mixture, and I mix the apples directly into the delicious liquid before putting the mixture in the pie crust. I always use Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust from this site and it is great every time. I have also used pretty much every kind of apple, and it always comes out perfect. If you want the best apple pie recipe around, this is it!

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
My husband jokingly said I should sell this chicken in a restaurant and that the house smelled like one of our favorite restaurants when the chicken was cooking. My picky 6 year old liked it so much she stole my husband's piece! I made the recipe as written, with the only change being I added more cheddar cheese on top before cooking. I will desperately be making this again!

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
This one has become a favorite with my husband, who says he could eat this recipe every day. Unlike other reviews, I actually added a little more brown sugar while cooking, and it did not come out too sweet at all. I have made this twice now, following the recipe almost exactly. The only changes I made were I added some garlic infused dressing while cooking the chicken and did not cover the chicken while cooking as suggested by others. The result was flavorful, easy chicken that my husband thought had been marinating all day due to the infusion of flavors. I will definitely be making this again!

California Chicken Spaghetti

My husband rates this a 5. My husband generally doesn't like pasta, but he loved this basically sauceless version. He stated that it is a good light meal with delicious flavor. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Great Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
This recipe is really good! I was skeptical about the mozzarella because I am not a big fan of melted cheese, but it was great! I found myself eating 4 pieces. husband and kids also enjoyed it. Very simple and good following the recipe exactly.

Mushroom Blue Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2012
I made this for my husband, kids, and sister. The kids wouldn't touch it but my husband and sister loved it. I told my sister what was in it and she was amazed she liked it despite not liking mushrooms or bleu cheese. I made the recipe almost exactly, except that I added minced garlic, added the bleu cheese to the turkey mixture before cooking, and cooked it on the stove top. My husband gives this recipe a thumbs up :)

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2012
I made this for family and friends and they loved it! I did modify it slightly after reading some of the reviews. I used butter instead of olive oil as previously suggested, and I used minced garlic instead of crushed. I also marinated the chicken in a garlic marinade for several hours before cooking. everyone loved the flavor and tenderness of the chicken, and they wished I had made more. I will definitely be making this again!
